i don't understand what happened with iq in the last couple. he was playing him more minutes recently. playing him late more. with the starters more. and then he pulled back a little for no apparent reason.

I am telling you both. And I mean this. He is trying to play good cop bad cop with IQ. Could I understand if this was Anthony Edwards? Absolutely. We don’t even know if AE loves basketball. By all accounts he wanted to play football and has repeatedly made it seem like he doesn’t know if he truly LOVES the game.

But that’s not the case with IQ. He’s not the one to play that cat and mouse game with. He’s the same guy that stays late in the gym after an early practice, shoot around/warmups and a game. This is a rookie who very much LOVES the game. No distractions with him.

It seems like Thibs wants to humble a guy who is ALREADY humble. What IQ needs is a coach who will instill confidence in him, provide support yet fairly critique him and bust his chops when he sees something out there he doesn’t like.

Thibs strong and wrong. It’s not even about starting IQ. We just asking to do the same thing to Payton when he’s not playing well. He absolutely does not! What makes us upset is Payton does not have a future here, or so we think. It’s corny and he seems like the type to be even harder on IQ because he got a lot of attention.

Yeah. Can’t really blame Thibs for going with this adjustment.

Yeah. What bugged me more than anything was IQ minutes steadily declining for wack ass payton

IQ kinda sucked too. So I can see why Thibs benched him. But it sucks when Payton is our only other option smh, so you might as well ride with IQ and live with his struggles. Hopefully Rose is a better alternative

The bench took a 6 pt deficit and tied it early in the 4th...thibs panicked and put the starters back too soon. Even Clyde said the main guys looked gassed.

He's gotta trust the bench more. Obi was actually playing well for once...9 minutes is a joke for him.

IQ was going well with Obi but Thibs pulled him. A couple of horrible Payton minutes later, Thibs put IQ back in. That's crazy.

This is true Quickley def didn’t have a great game and was having issues with the pressure defense Miami plays. But I still would rather him struggle than see Payton who we already know sucks and plays right into what Miami was doing.. I already know Rose is better than him.. just hope he takes away Elfrids minutes and not IQ’s

His rotations aren’t the greatest... but I’m pretty pleased with Thibs overall
