good for passing and defense but that's not really a need for the raptors rn, same with Jalen J, haven't seen much halfcourt scoring from him either.

Both are nice utility 4s, but we already have a great one in Pascal so both don't really appeal to me.

Jay Huff is effective in the halfcourt. Doesn't miss bunnies, just jams it. If can trade down and get 2 picks, I'd take him with the later pick. He's like a taller, older Jalen Smith.

Champagnie #11 vs Huff #30, just game highlights and they aren't guarding each other.

Josh Christopher could be a steal in the 20's.

He looks like fellow alum James Harden. Though he's a Cali guy and likes the warm climate and is at ASU.

Almost forgot about Mathurin!

Hope Daishen Nix doesn't rise too much.

As we move closer to 15-20 range the guys that are pretty high on my list of BPA are:

Usman Garuba - only 6'8" but he is a talented defender and playmaker in the mold of Okongwu. He is very instinctive as defender that is a spiderman moving around kind of reminds of Biyombo in his draft days, but with much better hands and passing chops.

Spoiler:
;ab_channel=AdamSpinella

Charles Bassey - Western Kentucky - Nigerian C with a nasty streak who is a great athlete who is more drop oriented but still rangey on defense. Kind of reminds me of Wendel Carter Jr.

Spoiler:
;ab_channel=MaceoBaller

I'd prefer to get a dynamic wing or PG with +athleticism and size, but these two have huge value as defensive anchors.

Found an interesting tidbit on Bassey being a BWB grad:

Surely, Charles has gone places at Western Kentucky, but he’s had to work for it every step of the way since he was first spotted selling fried chicken in the streets of his hometown Lagos.

He moved to the USA two years later, at 14, on the back of an MVP in the Giants of Africa Camp (organized by Toronto Raptors’ executive Masai Ujiri).

https://bustingbrackets.com/2021/02/06/nba-draft-2021-evaluation-western-kentucky-center-charles-bassey/

So being an MVP at age 14 is pretty impressive. If not for injury last year, Bassey might ranked higher.

Do not want undersized PF's that can't shoot the 3.

Bassey is Mitchell Robinson with potential to shoot the 3.

To me, Garuba doesn't have a broken jumper, he just doesn't shoot it enough as his role is being more of a rim runner and or just receiving passes off basket cuts. When he does shoot threes his form looks projectable. Where he is intriguing is his shortroll passing. He is pretty advanced at making reads at his age. Garuba is only 18 so he has room to grow. Size wise, he is about the same as OG Anunoby which is a smaller PF at 6'8", but he has good length and hops to compensate. He has excellent second jump. I totally see the reservations with the guy but Toronto likes to play small and quick and he could be a fun guy to pair with OG, Siakam upfront.

If he can't play C he's going to be blocked by Siakam and Boucher and even Watanabe.

Ah so he plays in the Euroleague. But FT shooting under 50% does not bode well from being able to shoot 3's.

He could become a less mechanical Biyombo?

Bassey is one of the few big men I'm interested in for this draft. He fits the modern NBA better than a lot of the other lob threat big men. His free throw shooting percentages indicate that he'll be able to add the 3 to his game. I can't think of any NBA bigs who compare to his skill set without adding something on. Like he could be the Bucks version of Brook Lopez with better rebounding, or like Psubs said Mitchell Robinson with a 3.

So is the plan to draft a talent like Ja Morant, and let him go to waste like on the grizzlies?

Morant looks like a lost teenager out there with all the talent in the world and nobody to mentor him to become a true star. This is what will happen if we tank.

African, good on D, great upside, fills a position we need, will likely be available when we draft.

Take your retirement fund out and put it all on this Bassey guy. That’s who we’re drafting.

Since we're looking at bigs this seems relevant...

About two hours before the scheduled tipoff, Monday night's men's basketball game between Miami and North Carolina in Chapel Hill was postponed, the ACC announced.

The decision came hours after The Daily Tar Heel, North Carolina's student newspaper, posted a Snapchat video that shows UNC standouts Day'Ron Sharpe and Armando Bacot partying without masks on, along with other young people who also aren't wearing masks Saturday after UNC's 91-87 win over Duke.

Loll, fair enough response - was feeling amped after that game. Still tho, is tanking to get a talent really worth it if there are no players or culture to help him develop?

Is it on TV in Canada? Ugh, Sportsnet will air 5 of the 905 games. Damn, not an Ignite game. They play the Ignite on Sat Feb 13 at 7pm.
