I don't know a ton about him, but looking at his bio I think he fits the bill with what UCF is looking for in an Athletic Director.

As much as the idea of poaching a P5 AD was appealing, those guys have huge budgets and absolutely do not have to deal with the same challenges and problems that a G5 AD has to deal with.

A place like UCF, you really need someone capable of punching above their weight, a la Danny White. Someone who can raise money, build facilities and make good coaching hires without an unlimited budget.

Arkansas State has done that really well with all of those things last 8+ years.

Been watching some YouTube videos on him and he seems like a good hire. Hopefully we can still keep the rest of the staff in place.

There's rumors floating around that Mohajir wanted to hire a P5 offensive coordinator two months ago (Jeff Lebby, Rhett Lashlee and Phil Longo were the three rumored names), but he simply didn't have the budget to woo any of them away.

He ended up hiring Butch Jones at 825K per season.

Lebby and Longo both make more than that as coordinators. Lashlee's contract isn't disclosed because Miami isn't a state university, but I'd imagine he makes more than that as well.

I’d be 100% okay with Lebby being the coaching hire and bringing back 24k somehow.

Everything I’ve seen so far looks good to me. He’s definitely ‘high-energy’ as they are promoting him. I like that he’s come out an said his goal is to make sure every student athlete has a job or graduate school admission upon graduating.

The more I learn about him the more I like him. He's definitely energetic and engaging with fans, seems to fit the bill of what UCF needs. I think he was named a Top 5 G5 AD last year (DW was #1).

I'm not as excited as I would've been with Greene from Auburn. But so far it looks like a good hire. I'm hopeful he brings in Lebby.

Coaching search is said to be moving very quickly. I’m hoping we go with Lebby for a few reasons. Local he coaches already know him, he knows the roster, and the players would be familiar with his playbook. Covid will make any transition hard.

It didn’t sound like he would be using a search firm for the FB hire from today’s interviews. His FB background definitely showed when he described the evaluation process of candidates.

He literally conducted a football coaching search two months ago :lol:

If he needs a search firm when he has even more money to play with...

Mohajir seems like a genuinely good person, has great energy, and the right attitude going into the position. Whether he can maintain/improve on what Danny White accomplished is impossible to judge. But I'm rooting for him.

-Ole Miss OC Jeff Lebby
-North Carolina OC Phil Longo
-Kent State HC Sean Lewis

Could be as many as three more, but those three all for sure interviewed for the job.
