What's the deal with Mully? Did he get fired from the St. John's job? Big East basketball isn't what it used to be but it has to pay better than NBC Sports Bay Area?

Plus NY is his home.

I'm actually minding Buke less and less lately. Must suck to be partnered with the announcing equivalent of a rotten fart...

When Fitz basically condescended to Buke about black history month during the first Spurs game, and Buke was loudly silent for the next 15 seconds.. my respect level for Buke soared. I dont agree with all his strategic calls when he's doing play by play, but he's certainly not bad. Barnett is a tough act to follow, and even he couldn't outweigh the stench of Fitz

Part of Buike's crappiness might be that he has to play along with Fitz. Fitz is 98% of the reason our booth sucks.

I think that a FANTASTIC aim for the Warriors tech people to shoot for is the ability to mute broadcasters you dont like.. how great would that be? Even if it was only on the online stream versions..

Juan Toscana Anderson for the min is doing 80% of what we expected of Oubre . Get the man guaranteed 3 yr deal if he keeps it up till deadline

I don't know how you came up with that 80%--he's not doing 80% of Oubre's offense, he's not doing 80% of his defense. Toscano is OK off the bench as 8th or 9th man, but let's not get carried away.

Best we could hope for is that he becomes a high motor guy and improves his catch and shoot 3s, kind of like Caruso for the Lakers.

Right now, he's not that so if the team has an opportunity to acquire another guy who deserves 20 minutes a game, they should do so.

But they seem to be intent on minimizing luxury taxes for now.

the bar might be set so low but it does look like Oubre is starting to get a feel for the offense and how to play with Curry...baby steps
Madvillain been as high as Kathmandu
And tilted to the side like that fat man's shoe

he is definitely LESS than 80% of Oubre's offense consider Oubre is -2.04 in ORPM and way below league avg on TS%. if he is doing 10% of Oubre's offense he would be almost a positive offensive player (-2*0.1= -0.2).

Oubre doesn't ever pass or move offball significantly better. Even if the shots go in, it hinders Steph. It's so painful because he would actually be an amazing player if he could just learn the system and pass the ball. Our team would be SO much better. Even if his shot's not falling, if he could do that, he'd be valuable. I know it's not easy but even marginal improvements would do wonders.

If you give Oubre the benefit of 10 games to get used to the new system, this is what some numbers look like:

He actually shot 39.3% from 3 in the last 16 games. And 44.6% in the last 10 games. (His season numbers are still down from the horrible 13.7% in the first 10 games.)

His assists per game went up from 0.8 in the first 10 games to 1.8 in the last 16 games and 2.0 in the last 10.

Now I do not think his recent shooting numbers are sustainable, but it is pretty evident that he is playing significantly better overall than at the beginning of the season. To the point where he actually looks quite solid.

Iggy? Look I'm one of the biggest Oubre skeptics here but you're tripping if you want to trade him for Iggy - or you just haven't seen him play since 2018.

Barnes I could be talked into.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

I'm not sure what all the deadline dates, etc. are, but in principle it gives the front office the flexibility to wait and see whether they want to keep this salary slot alive, by accepting the option and trading Iguodala for an impact player when Klay is back. They could also get to the option deadline, decide that they don't see or foresee any worthwhile trades, and then just let it go (and save a bajillion $$$). If Oubre makes it past the deadline, then he's likely gone in the offseason and GS is out a roughly $15M salary slot.
