Then injuries and everything piled up with mo.... and that left with a safety net. Needless to ssay.... mo needs to work through some stuff. setting screens ... defensive effort etc. and he won't just be gifted anything or coddled. At the end of the day... this could still be the right way of handling it all. we shall see. Look at steve kerr and wiseman. no one will ever say that looney is a more talented player... but he is what they need right now to win. :-)

*Sigh*

Everything you're saying is revisionist based on how the 18-19 season actually played out. Which is fine, but I'm talking about what the Magic's thought process should have been when the Magic were actually on the clock in the 2018 draft.

The Magic were coming off 29 and 25 win seasons when they drafted Bamba. Vucevic at the time was also a zero time all-star heading into the last year of his contract.

The only scenario that made sense was Bamba is Vucevic's backup Year 1 and takes over as the starter in year 2 with Vucevic either traded or gone in free agency.

If there was any indication that Vucevic could play well enough to where he'd be resigned *or* Bamba wouldn't be ready to assume a bigger role by year 2, then Bamba just shouldn't have been the pick at 6.

And I say that knowing what we know now about Bamba, that had the Magic dumped Vucevic and given Bamba a bigger role in 19-20 that the team would have almost certainly been really bad (had Bamba been able to handle it period).

Mobley has a lot of the same moves as Vuc. What sets him apart is his defense. He has length and a 40' vertical that helps him block shots. Still i might take Cade first.

idk, i might call cap on that 40' cause i didn't see none of that vs ucla.....what i saw was a player that crashes the boards, he's a pretty great rebounder with great instincts and timing on defense...i could see that players are wary of him whenever he's around....offensively though i'm not nearly as impressed....him being 220 soaking wet i'm not sure he's going to be able to seal anybody deep and get that hook off so i guess he'd have to rely on his quickness....plus i don't believe in his shot AT ALL, at least not as is....it's way too slow imo but it works on the college level....i still like him...although not so much for us, at least not if the rosters isn't drastically changed

i find it usless to talk too much about prospects without having any clue where pick will land.

If we draft 6-10 i have zero desire to do anything with that player and only logical decision would be trade for established, good player. Because Magic can't afford to draft another Bum-ba.
Kuminga, Barnes can't shoot, Williams is 6'7 and has less pounds than Isaiah Thomas who is 5'9

Spent most of the 2nd half of last night's game getting excited over Jalen Green highlights. I wonder what the catch is with his game.

Kuminga looks good. He's showing a good feel for the game. It's early, but can't say same for Green.

Truth be told, the Magic were in a tough spot the year after they drafted Bamba. Vuc became an allstar, and there’s no way they could/would replace him for nothing especially for a team who was struggling to make the playoffs.

Vuc’s progression through the years has been what made him difficult to move for the front office, and his improvements were enough to outdo the players that management brought in to try and replace him.

I missed the game!! Anyone has a replay for this?

Ive been hearing Kuminga has been impressive. If so, good news.. even if we pick lower, one of Suggs, Cade and Green will be there because of it.

These guys have been on scout radars for years. Common fans are seeing them for the first time.

There is a reason Kuminga is #2 on a lot of top mocks and universally top 5.
