Green is great for what he brings, but I think replacing him with a better shooter or better scorer changes the dynamic of the starting lineup. And his defense is good, but inconsistent so using Thybulle in the stopper role through the rotation might be better anyhow.

I am all about getting guys on decent contracts who are locked up for 3+ years because otherwise it's hard to build around this group with limited cap.

What about this?

Let's say Sacramento wants to hand the keys to Haliburton and Fox, and decides its time to move Buddy in the right deal....

And let's say Dallas decides they need some more catch and shoot guys in the rotation...

To Dallas: Danny Green, Furkan, Bjelica and some picks from Philly

To SAC: Mike Scott, James Johnson, Tony Bradley, Ferguson and some picks from Philly

To PHI: Maxi Kleber, Buddy Hield, Boban

Why for PHI: Buddy in the starting group over Danny provides a high volume, 40% 3pt shooter who has deep range to pair with Embiid, and adds to the spacing Seth provides for both Simmons and Embiid. His defense is not great, and would hurt with Seth starting next to him, but Simmons and Embiid can make up for some of that and the offense would be SO much better with Buddy in there. Also, his contract is favorable and not expiring. Kleber fits well off the bench and is on a reasonable deal, and has history playing with Seth. Boban returns and makes Tobias happy, even though his minutes will be limited. Give up future picks to secure players on long term deals now.

Why for SAC: clear out Buddy's salary and get picks as compensation.

Why for Dallas: mix it up by getting guys who help a playoff run this year, and picks for the future.

Now the picks would be likely quite valuable but I think it's worth it to have 10 guys locked up under contract for multiple years through at least Embiid's deal. They're good fits and they build continuity.

Develop Maxey, Joe and Reed for future.

Doubt sac needs many pics to get off of Buddy’s contract for all expirings

Buddy Hield would be replacing Seth Curry, not Danny Green.
Not in the scenario I just wrote. He would be playing next to Curry in this scenario. Imagine 2 deep ball threats around Simmons and Embiid. Simmons slides to SF most of the time on defense anyhow.

Hield and Curry together would be absolutely horrific defensively. Hunted to no end.

I'm thinking we stand pat, as well.

I'd be surprised if we made any major changes. We might add a buyout veteran but I'm not even sure if it's someone that will crack the playoff rotation.

Knox is big, athletic, and can shoot.

If he somehow gains confidence, I could see him salvaging his career somewhere.

The issue with him is that he plays no defense so coaches have a low tolerance for him. Also, he has no creating abilities so nobody is enamored with his talent level. Basically, he doesn't exactly incentivize people to give him chances.

So basically a 21 year old, more athletic, better shooting version of Tobias? For cheap?

Sign me up!!!

Haha just kidding. But no if he could play 3/4 and backup Tobias, with Dwight and Matisse out there to cover his lack of defense...

Can shoot, doesn’t play defense... sounds like he can match what Mike Scott brings. Could be worth a flier.

Wouldn't mind Knox as an essentially free reclamation project. Wouldn't pay too much for him though.

Knox would be a great get. Wasn't thw sixers high on him in the draft? Had him in for two workouts but the knicks stole and the Bridges trade happened.

Knox is like Semi Ojalayheeah with the personality of Noah Vonleh. Not really interested in being the team trying to reclaim him.

The difference between Tobias Harris and Knox is that Tobias had to adapt, change his game, fight for playing time, and develop into a three point shooter while Knox was given instant time and has added nothing to his game which was flawed to begin with at UK.

I didn't want Knox during the draft and don't want him now.

We need Delon Wright.

He's a fantastic defender, he can score off the dribble, he can run the offense when needed.

Bertans would be a nice (but expensive) bench piece, but Westbrook makes this team worse. He's a high usage, low efficiency, spacing killer that doesn't try on defense and just wants to collect his numbers.

Would you trade Mike Scott, Terrance Ferguson and 2 second round picks for him?

He's signed through 2021 season.

So you'd get 1.5 years and 2 playoff runs with him.

Detroit may be willing to part with him for expirings and picks.

Also frees up a roster spot for JJ to sign off buyout, and allows the TPE to be used for Bjelica.

Nah, not two second rounders.

Wright isn't assertive enough of a scorer to impact the game enough to be worth giving up that much draft capital.

I'd swap them Seth Curry, though.

Wright is a solid enough rotation guard. Not much of a shooter/scorer, and makes a decent amount of money for what he is, so I'm not sure he makes a ton of sense for us. Feels like a solid compliment in the backcourt to Shake or Curry, so maybe I could be convinced?

I wouldn't be particularly excited or upset if we acquired him (unless we paid a lot to do so)

We need to replace Tobias with a alpha dog/scorer who will have the ball in the 4th quarter. 1. Westbrook .... Olipido .. kemba... Lavine... I dunno. .. I know we lack that player ...

Sixers have three defensive players. Ben Simmons, Danny Green and Matisse Thybulle. None of them can create off the dribble. Wright can. Right there, it makes the case why he'd be a welcome addition.
