Cool, well, you tell me you "knew from day 1" after he was taken 15th overall that he was going to win back to back MVPs, and I'll show you someone who is lying.

Good to know that you've now boiled your position down to, "I just know it!"

Ok fine if you want to get technical. I could see his greatness in his first year. I knew he was special and still do know it.

How did he diversify his game after the Toronto series? Take the rose colored glasses off, these things haven't happened.

Just because it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't in the future. It's taking him a while to realize that the league knows how to defend him much better now.

Right, exactly my point. Rose colored glasses and wishful thinking. This is what you "hope" happens. Not what has happened or is likely to happen. I rest my case.

I can cite the fact that he went from a stick figure to looking like a comic book character to show that he works his ass off on his weaknesses. This is the very premise of my argument, that he works too hard to not eventually figure it out. I know this might sound tiring to you, but I don't give a ****.

Why watch sports if you don't have hope?

If Giannis keeps failing in the playoffs, do you think he's going to keep playing the exact same way? He's only faced adversity in his last two playoffs. Before that, the team either wasn't good enough to make the playoffs, or he wasn't a factor in us losing (2017 vs Toronto & 2018 vs Boston). So right now, he has the 2019 ECF and the 2020 semi-finals to work with. He didn't learn his lesson against the Raptors, but this season he has played a little more off ball and is learning to make plays when he gets ball in different positions. And yes, he still has frustrating tendencies and major weaknesses in his game. But he's not going to fix them all at once.
still learning the game

Except to aid your argument. A lot of people believed he could be really good, claiming to have known he would be an MVP caliber talent from day one is some clairvoyant ****. He grew like 3-4 inches after we drafted him and has tacked on 50-60 lbs of muscle over the years.
ETA: I have always loved Giannis, and thought he had a lot of potential. This was my post after we drafted him:

I didn't think he would be a generational superstar, no one did.

I haven’t followed you to much, but I’d venture say you’ve been a Giannis hater from the beginning. If that is true you were already wrong once.

Everyone here thought he was a boom/bust selection, and most here liked it because we had zero going on when it came to the talent pool, but you, Chad, you KNEW it was greatness.

How much cash did you make betting on a 18yo greek kid being the 2x consecutive MVP at 25yo?

None, I’ve never gambled. How much will you lose though if you bet against him

Also instead of resulting to calling people liars and slandering them why don’t you do a little research and I’m sure my posts will back up what I’m saying now.

In other news, Naz Reid is an under the radar guy to target for a possible Brook replacement that also happens to fit long term.

First, it's "resorting," second, it's not slander if it's true, third, says the guy who literally joined the boards post Giannis breakout in 2016. So, pretty convenient.

Improved offer to the Kings.

Trade the two DJs (Augustin/Wilson) for Bjelica (expiring) + Justin James (salary filler) + a 2nd pick

Just a thought, but I could see old Giannis being like a prime Bogut. I think that still has good play in the league.
Maybe he can catch rebounds from the 70 3's per game and get a few putback dunks on offense

Or ya know, we happen to have Jrue Holiday, Donte Divincenzo, Khris Middleton, and Giannis Antetokounmpo on the perimeter. That doesn't make a difference at all. You want to know what doesn't work? A drop zone with Patty Mills, Demar Derozan, and Keldon Johnson playing a lot of minutes. Did you completely miss the part in the article you posted which mentions that he's literally tasked with erasing the mistakes of young defenders that the Spurs are trotting out?

Portis being a defensive sieve for most of his career suddenly becoming a positive upon his arrival isn't evidence to the contrary.

Love the way Naz Reid has looked, but I don't know why the Wolves would trade him.
