There's a remedy for that. It's literally the same situation Phoenix was in. Get an elite perimeter defender (which they don't have yet) like Shawn Marion and profit. And the rules are way more lax than they were in the Nash led Suns days.

Wonder if there is something in the way this season has played out, pandemic and weird scheduling, that benefits the sort of good offensive guys who have never gotten over the hump to being truly good players and big options offensively.

I'm thinking of

Randle
Timmy
LaVine

All 3 have previously been kind of the same class of player till this year.

Lavine and Randle have been wayyyyy better longer than THJ.

He was good last year b/c of the shot profile. Put him on a team that gives him free reign and he’ll suck again

LaVine has been the best of the three by a fair amount. But not great. And I wouldn't say that Randle has been way better than anybody really. More productive but also a big loser till this year, and a guy you'd rather dump.

There's distance between the three guys but they're mostly offensive guys who haven't won and who are not consistent. LaVine is not some great player either, look at the Bulls' records.

Look, you're not a great scorer when you never play in the playoffs. You're a productive loser, literally.

I think John Collins is a far better player. rn, Obi has no post game and his 3PT shot hasn't been good (and often looks pretty ugly/misses badly)

But Trae isn't winning big or anything, never has and doesn't look like he's on the verge of that either. At least until this year, a guy like Luka has won.

He's been in the league two years. Nash hadn't even broken out yet. You guys are just biased haters and it's clouding your judgement. Young is going to be around and he's going to be good for a loooong time.

It's like how good of a defender do you expect a guy his size to be? I can remember off the top of my head one player in the years I've been watching the game who could make a difference on that side of the ball who was a smaller player. I'll give anyone a $1 if they can guess.

Yes. The Knicks aren’t going anywhere. All season this team has shown it can compete with anyone. Sometimes it doesn’t have enough to close games out but we’re competing at a good enough clip to get in as a lower seed

He's a very talented offensive player. I just don't remember a team ever being very successful with there best player being a league worst defender.

Thats not to say he is a scrub or a bust or anything of that sort. I'm just speaking on the outlook of the Hawks. I feel that will limit them especially come playoff time. Teams will exploit it and like you said it might not even be an effort thing he just really small to the point even another really small guy like Brunson can get whatever he wants vs him as well.
