I'm getting really frustrated with Sexton. He needs to drive, shoot, or give up the ball. He turns it over too often when he over dribbles and the ball stops moving.

Couple notes:
--His bball IQ is going to remain a extremely frustrating part of his total game.
--I honestly think mcGee is better than Drummond at this point.
--why cant the Cavs '3pt specialists' hit 3s. Im getting frustrated at Garland/Windlers complete lack of ability to light it up from downtown when that was the main reason we drafted both of them.
--What the hell happened to this teams offensive flow and stifling defense we saw for the first few weeks of the season. They are regressing BIG time. They started with such great ball movement and played 150% on defensive effort.

Cavs 12.5% 2 of 17 from 3 = 6 points
DEN 40% 8 of 20 = 24 points
score at half cavs 43 DEN 63 20 point difference.
why is DG and Sexton not shooting threes at all to speak of? You can't tell me it's not the coaching at this point.
Your gonna play that brand of basketball you need 2 6'5 guards at all times making life hard on the oppositions guards.
between Barton Jamal and Morris thats 28 points they scored

Sexton isn't shooting 3s because he prefers to drive. He doesn't really like to take them until he's got going and has scored some easy buckets. It's not rocket science.Stillwater wrote:Cavs 12.5% 2 of 17 from 3 = 6 points

As far as the rest, what happened is the Cavs started winning when Sexton was scoring in bunches so opposing teams decided to make it harder for him to drive in the paint, and against anyway halfway decent defensive team, his game falls apart.
We're the 30th team in the NBA offensively and at a certain point that bleeds over into your defense.

Thats not it at all man. He was shooting 3s at a very high clip before recently. sure he likes to get to his spots but he isnt doing that either. Clearly hes playing hurt and clearly neither guard is shooting from 3 if there is a path to the bigs.
btw KPJ just dropped 25/4/3 in his debut in the G league bubble high scorer in the game and did it efficiently.
If Sexton and DG continue to stink it up all season at this point Altman has to go

Yeah, on only 4 attempts per game. Really wish he would take it to the next level and look for his shot to become a threat. Nearly all of his 3s (and this goes for the entire team) are wide open.
You have to be able to take and make contested shots at this level but it seems that unless Sexton, Garland, Okoro or Osman have their feet set and are wide open, they cant make 3s at any sort of consistent rate. Which also makes it nearly impossible to climb out of hole and spark runs.

I mean the problem with that is if he doesn't make an effort to run the offense, no one does.LivingLegend wrote:jbk1234 wrote:Garland is shooting 40% from 3 this season.LivingLegend wrote:

Re: Game 25 : Cleveland Cavaliers (10-15) @ Denver Nuggets (12-11) - 9:00PM
I'm done with this game. If Drummond for OPJ is on the table, the Cavs need to take it. You're rotating three seven footers on the floor an 80 year old Paul Milsap is out there sonning people. Love needs get back on the floor and earn the $30M were paying him by actually playing in games. We need to rehabilitate Sexton's value with someone who can space the floor because the Cavs need to think long and hard before offering him an extension.
It's not the reason we're losing by 30, but Bickerstaff needs to do a better job when the officiating is this out of whack. You want to let the other team play physically, that's fine, but the touch calls on the other end can't happen.

It's time for some to admit that Drummond is a major issue & needs to be bought out ASAP. I knew he wasn't going to give effort tonight after Sexton refused to pass him the ball in the post while 2 defenders were crowding the paint. He immediately starting sulking and just gave up. That is terrible because this a team full of young guys & that type of stuff rubs on others. JB Bickerstaff is way over his head as a head coach. He has these guys playing 1990 like offense where he prefers two center line ups which makes it harder for Sexton/Garland to operate offensively. The Cavs prefer Drummond iso post attempts over moving the ball for open 3's.

Bickerstaff doesn't like playing with 2 centers. Unless you count Prince, we have no healthy power forwards. This isn't complicated. Wade is a G League guy.SaiCLE wrote:It's time for some to admit that Drummond is a major issue & needs to be bought out ASAP. If Drummond isn't giving effort or playing well, he can go to the bench. Allen and Garland are the only two guys giving any type of consistent play right now. If we buy out everyone who has a bad game or games, they'll be no one left on the roster. We're playing good teams and we're not a good team. We're not even a mediocre team without Love or Nance.

can we send Okoro to the D-league bubble or at least to the Bench? He kinda has been poopy for a long time, and he needs to get right.
And D-league mvp KPJ, good for that kid. I'm pretty sure Jimmer could score 50 a game in that league.

It's not relevant. He was traded to the Rockets for a fake second and cap space, because that was the best offer, and he hasn't suited up for them yet.Stillwater wrote:jbk1234 wrote:Lol at KPJ's G League stats.Stillwater wrote:Thats not it at all man. You want to start Cedi instead? I mean I'm not necessarily against it, but with the loss of Nance, Exum, Delly, & KPJ, we don't have a lot of offense coming off the bench as is.Harper4Ferry? wrote:can we send Okoro to the D-league bubble or at least to the Bench? I dunno, but we can't just keep going to things that aren't working. We've been getting killed at all facets of basketball for the past 3 weeks it seems. Time to adjust rotations, time to find a different offense. I'm just pissed off to watch us get dunked on for 2 straight quarters.

And yeah, get Drummond out of here. And get Love back and healthy so someone will trade for him(clippers?).
