I wonder how the Lakers performed over the same stretch.

I can imagine Dirk excelling in those situations. He was one of the very best iso scorers of his generation. You could give him the ball and be assured of getting a good shot no matter where he was on the court.

Well sounds like .500 or worse considering Boston was the 2nd most effective team and they were a shade over .500.

Awesome player, I miss him being in the league although I hated the Mavs back then. It's shame how they lost in 07 because I feel like people now think Dirk was unworthy MVP in hindsight. Dude was a monster, Avery Johnson wasn't a great coach but from what I understand he really pushed Dirk to round out his offensive game by working in the post, facing up and driving to the basket, etc. Back when tweener players fell through the cracks and there were clear prototypes for small forwards, power forwards and centers, there was basically no one who could guard him.

As a grizz fan, dirk has ripped my heart out soooo many times. Hes def on the top tier along with Kobe and Duncan of players i feared
