Only 4 games out of the playin game!

We all love the fact that this team shows no quit, the problem is that we have had so many close games, as our guys mature were going to start winning those. Usually teams at the bottom have a loser mentality so they cave at the first sign of pressure (Minny) this team has the eye of the tiger every damned night.

This team has definitely become entertaining which is a big plus. Even winning more games the last couple of years the teams were just miserable to watch.

So I'm trying to figure out Svi on defense. Is it just that he hasn't been taught well? That he loses focus maybe? He looks like he runs hard on the closeouts to try and recover being out of position, so I don't think it is a motivation thing. He also looks quick enough to be able to play defense...

Why would you consider moving Jackson dudes a 6'8 shooting guard thats athletic, can defend, rebound, cut to the basket only thing with jackson is hes pretty streaky with his shooting and his passing at times are bad.

Ok. Sirvydis is almost a doppelganger of Svi. Their jersey numbers are 91 and 19... interesting :)

Helluva game for Stewart. Jackson, Bey, and Sekou were solid. Grant got absolutely bottled up.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

Stewart was very good, he had a few dumb mistakes, but he did a lot of great things.

Josh Jackson was a monster, he forced things a little bit but he was our best player by far.

Bey was great at the end when the game was done already, I wish Casey would play Bey more.

Blake was good early but he is so bad on defense.

Grant tried hard but this wasn't his game at least he had a positive impact on defense. He was better than Blake, despite of the numbers.

Sekou did more than wait at the corner, which is great, but he is still terrible.

Delon Wright and Dennis Smith Jr were just awful running the team.

I agree he’s very good - he’s probably the fifth or sixth best player on a championship team. I would trade him, and others, for picks, because that’s what smart rebuilding teams do.

Lol Josh just turned 24yrs old he fits our rebuilding situation perfectly if he was around 28-29 I'd understand.

Outside of Top 10 pick I vote keep Josh Jackson. He's young, talented, and improving which is what we need.

You need 3 seasons to get Bird Rights. That allows a team to spend over the cap for the next contract.

Blake will be off the books by then. So maybe we wont need to go over the cap to re-sign him. But if Josh Jackson continues to play well, will he demand the max or something like Grant's 20 million, or more.

If thats the case, then maybe Pistons wont have the money to sign him.

Since Bey and Stewart will need to be resigned together, there is an upcoming year in which the Pistons will likely be WAY over the cap to re-sign both to deals.

This is above my pay grade, but within that season, working backward, you need to figure out how to fill out the team with as much talent as possible, because that year to resign Bey/Stewart the team wont have any financial flexibility.

So long story short, if Josh fits into that financial setup then great. How much of Blakes 40 million opening up will Josh want is he worth it. Would it be better to flip him in the off season because he will be an unrestricted free agent in two years.

That was the deal for Josh. 2 years, then he can do whatever he wants. He bet on himself. Will he ask for the max?

Josh Jackson is not worth the MAX and hasn't shown enough for that to be a consideration!

And no way should we trade him for a pick! Why do that? So you can pick a guy you hope ends up being Josh Jackson?

Weaver found a diamond in the rough! Keep him and see what we see. We'll have cap space to retain him when the time comes

Don't favor trading Jackson quickly. He has a Detroit connection and has been playing well. Could be a young vet who fits the team's plan as to age and versatility? So far so good. If he keeps this up he'll get paid, but nothing so far says a MAX. A matter for next season more than likely.

Are we seriously discussing the possibility of Josh Jackson getting the max? Or the difficulty of cap space with resigning our rookies which wouldn't be a factor until 2024? Man just what in the?

This takes me back to the days of 2 good weeks to start the season had people wanting to offer Avery Bradley $20 million+/year so "we don't get outbid in the off-season". This board is extremely reactionary and it shows in almost everything.

But Weaver is an idiot for paying Grant and Plumlee their contracts.

Grant’s the ‘MIP’, but Weaver’s an idiot for paying him a contract that will look like a steal in a year.
