Agree. I saw that article and didn't like a single one of those targets.

I wouldn't mind Bjelica, although Kerr might have concerns about the defense.
I think we'll get outbid for Tucker and the Rockets would rather not give him to us if they can help it.
It doesn't make sense to swap Oubre for another expiring, if the goal is to preserve the salary slot. Take Hill out of the equation, since he doesn't qualify for the DPE, and we're not allowed to trade Oubre back to OKC.
No interest in Gordon as the price point Orlando will command.

Ellington became eligible to be traded this past weekend, he's shooting 49% from three. I don't know what the Pistons would take for him, but he's on a minimum contract so salary matching isn't an issue.

Could they trade someone like Mulder who doesn't have a fully guaranteed salary for the season until 2/27?

Mulder is shooting okay but low attempts and only playing 10 MPG.

Taking up a useful roster spot.

Sure, if they would take him. They might rather have a couple of 2nd rd picks, though. But there's some contenders that could use a vet who's shooting like that, so who knows what it would take.

He's probably a buyout candidate too.

Will be interesting to see how Memphis fares over the next few weeks. If they drop any further below .500 maybe we can incentivize them with a pick to take some of our expirers as they look to next year.

Kelly Oubre Jnr
Brad Wannmaker
GS 1st or (two 2nds if not conveyed)

for

Kyle Anderson
Grayson Allen
Xavier Tillman

All mutli year manageable contracts that can provide depth while being more reliable then another late round rookie.

Is this close or am I fooling myself? I'm guessing probably the later. What needs to be added?... or is there nothing to be gained going in this direction.

They really like Kyle Anderson there I think. Great do-it-all glue guy.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Yeah, I agree. SlowMo is on a bargain contract when you think about it. A solid player who was developed through that great Spurs system.

They also looooove Tillman.

I don’t think the Grizzlies would consider trading either Anderson or Tillman, much less both, unless they got a mother lode back. And this package isn’t that.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

Yeah Tillman is a guy they surprised some people by covering. But he’s solid albeit limited. I don’t think they’d include him.

Grayson Allen and Draymond is also interesting from a Locke room stand point.

Posted this in T&T and I’m curious what you guys think. What about:

GS gets Austin Rivers from NY and a roughly full-MLE-sized TPE

NY gets Evan Fournier from ORL

ORL gets Kelly Oubre

NOTE: Not sure if GS needs to send a 2nd round pick to NY since they’re taking on a lot of salary without us having to take on any of their crap salary. I wouldn’t hesitate to include a 2nd (or even two, if NY is really twisting our arm, since they’re one of only two teams who could give us a TPE like this), if need be.

Why for GS:

Save $$$ this year, while keeping a mid-tier salary slot on the books for next season. If GS were to use the TPE next offseason, for instance, they would be doing so with a much clearer idea of what their key 2021-22 team needs will be, since they'll have a better picture of Wiseman's development trajectory and will also know who they drafted (or traded for) with the MIN pick. Whether they get Kuminga, Suggs, Green, etc. could greatly impact what position they want to target with that mid-tier slot. Also, the savings will make it less painful to waive Smailagic and convert Toscano-Anderson to a full deal this season.

Austin Rivers, meanwhile, is a solid player under team control at very low cost for several years, so he's exactly what a super over-the-tax aspiring contender like the Warriors needs.

Why for NY and ORL:

Rivers and Fournier are both — I believe — already on the trading block, so this is a way to deal them so that NY and ORL each get a try-before-you-buy opportunity on an upcoming free agent who could potentially be a longer-term fit. NY gets shooting and length; ORL gets an athletic 3 who adds length, slashing, and defensive energy. Assuming ORL moves on from Gordon after this season (which they absolutely should, given the investment in Isaac), I like a lineup of Fultz-Ross-Oubre-Isaac-Vucevic. If he looks more like PHX Oubre when he gets to ORL, maybe they could sign him for a few years at relatively good value, given his slump with us and maybe not many offers from teams who would be willing / able to give him a starting spot, which he seems to want.

What about Oubre & Wiseman for Jerami Grant?

I feel like he'd be exactly what we need, another long smart 2 way player in the dubs mold. I would imagine that there is also a Kerr connection with him having played with his uncle. Makes way more sense than Beal, who is smaller, more ball dominant, and doesn't have the same defensive tools.

I don't know why Detroit would trade him after just signing him.

Must be their leading scorer?

Plus I think he wanted to be the main guy for a team rather than a role player as he was with Denver.

They would certainly save a lot of salary but I don't know if the Warriors want to have another big contract on the books.

what's the point¿

is Grant gonna get us over the hill at this point? right now he's just a dude who seemingly posts empty numbers on a terrible team.

Detroit would do it because Wiseman is a 7 footer who can shoot and handle. Those don't grow on trees. He fits the timeline with their other rookies better too. As for Grant, he would be handling the ball a lot more in our offense than he was in Denver. We could sell him on taking the Durant role.
