Ya he’s great on quick small guards. The problem is our biggest needs in the po will be guys that can guard the likes of kawhi/pg/harden. They are just going to run pnr all day till they have that matchup and torch us. Tht/Caruso are better suited for that and they aren’t inefficient ball hogs like Dennis. Also curry lit us up that game, so I’d love to know the official source of these stats.

My big fear is that there is some misguided notion that Dennis is a more valuable long term piece than tht and we extend Dennis and don’t have money for tht. I think I’d take Caruso over Dennis also but that’s probably not a very popular opinion so won’t harp on it (caruso would also be much cheaper)

I wonder if they're ever going to start practicing regularly? There are times when it really shows.

I think Frank V and staff are completely focused on staying healthy and playing Defense right now... The lineups seem to be created focusing on that... Which I can't argue with, but it makes for some really awkward possessions from time to time...

Last year we were 11th in Pace, with a 103.3 rating which would have been good enough for 10th this season... This season, we're in a 3 way tie for 18th... Which basically makes us a bottom dweller.

Our offense is still much better going downhill, and pushing the pace... But with Schroder running the offense, we aren't pushing.

Everything slows down in the playoffs, so I'm not sure how fast we need to be, but I think a lot of the awkwardness and ineffectiveness on offense for us comes from our lack of getting up and down...

On top of that, we're not really a team that, when we go on a run, we can drop 20pts in the blink of an eye like Brooklyn or the Clips, or Nuggets, etc... We take a while.

We're still in a good spot, but it'd be nice to see some excitement and execution on offense...

You are not allowed to do team meetings longer than 10mins... so they can’t run 5 v 5 for 30 mins to a hour in practice or have traditional film sessions. It’s problem with a lot of teams clicking and correcting mistakes.

I would say Dennis can and should start but you should look at him Tony Parker when he was being groomed. He was making mistakes as a starter but he still played in the playoffs and over time he learned when to run the system and when to call his number by trial, error, and discipline. I compare him to Tony because he’s honestly the purest speed I’ve seen since Tony especially when attacking the rim at that size and taking pride in his defense.

Fair enough. I’d agree that he’s perhaps somewhere between a Tony Parker and Isiah Thomas. He can’t run the half court slow ball set proficiently yet. His defense is better than IT but not as good as TP.

Tony Parker is a good comparison IMO but I’m not sure it’s just a matter of allowing then learning from his mistakes would do the trick. Pops and Phil are legends because of their ability to figure out the best systems and make the necessary adjustments to fit in his players according to their abilities. Vogel is great in defensive schemes and adjustments but is still learning how to be a better offensive coach

Tony Parker is a good comparison IMO but I’m not sure it’s just a matter of allowing then learning from his mistakes would do the trick. Pops and Phil are legends because of their ability to figure out the best systems and make the necessary adjustments to fit in his players according to their abilities. Vogel is great in defensive schemes and adjustments but is still learning how to be a better offensive coach

Tony Parker is a good good comparison as far as potential upper ceiling goes. He’s got a looooooong way to go though. Needs to win us a few series as the indisputable third star.
