The Packers will likely have to move on from those players just to get under the cap. The question might be would you rather have Linsley or Watt.

If that is the question, then the answer is Watt. I think we have guys that can play there and I feel good about our young guys being able to cover the Guard spot if Jenkins ends up being the guy to play C.

But I think Jones, Linsley, Williams and King were pretty much all heading out the door already

Linsley was PFF top rated center. He won't be that easy to replace. With Bakhtiari likely missing the first part of the season that will be a huge change for the OL.

I know he was good, but I am fairly confident without him we didn't see a dip in our OL production.

Think it's time for Rodgers to throw some weight around and tell Gutekunst to go get Watt.

Lot easier to do when your wife makes double your income.

Let's not get too dramatic. Rodgers would still squeak by if he took less money.
Currently worth about $120m, owns 1% of the Bucks, and will make $30m per year minimum from here on out.

Just keep re-airing Shailene Woodley's six episode run on The O.C on some random channel. The residuals from ReasonablySober watching will make her a billionaire.

If Rodgers can't sacrifice despite being worth a few hundred mil already, he doesn't really want a title anyway.

Well, he doesn't need her money to have a great life. At this point, any of them are just leaving extra millions for their grand-grand-children.

Brady was sacrificing money early into his career when pretty much no player at that point would, which is what I was referring to. Obviously it would be easier for Rodgers to do that now but the assumption that a guy on his first or second contract that wouldn't take less, somehow doesn't care about a title is completely stupid. A guy can want to win a title while also wanting to setup his family for life at the cost of his own physical/mental well being.

Please find a way to get Watt. Would make next season that much better with him anchoring the defense.

Gotcha. Agree with your point then.

Regarding today, if Rodgers won't take a discount in exchange for aggressiveness, I'm definitely questioning his desire to win titles.

Wouldn't even be a question for me. DE/pass rusher is an impact position of value. C/interior lineman isn't. How many C's have we let go (Flanagan, Wells, Tretter) only for us to find some middle-round guy that fills in perfectly and we don't skip a beat? If the choice is between paying Linsley and fielding a Smith/Gary/Clark/Watt Front-4, then that's a pretty easy decision to make.

The OL if Bakh isn't bakh to start the season would be Turner-Jenkins-Patrick-Runyan-Braden not taking into account any FAs or draft picks. Two of Nijman, Stepaniak, and Braden need to step up unless they get an OL early who impresses or is shoveled into a starting role.

I am hoping we already have the future tackle on the roster, but if not, this is a hell of a draft to add one. So much OT talent.

If Watt takes a discount to play in Pittsburgh or Green Bay I wouldn't be completely shocked, but it would still be pretty unprecedented for a guy that good to take less than market value.

So apparently Vincent Jackson was missing for basically a month, and was found to have been renting a hotel room that he was found dead in today. 38. Will be interested to hear the details around this. Regardless - of course - RIP.

Know he had a good career in TB too, but will always associate him with the exciting San Diego teams of the mid-to-late 2000s. If LT had been even two years younger/more aligned to Philips/Gates/Jackson, I really think that team would have won a ring. Just an absurd amount of offensive talent.
