i guess the raps aint planning to trade lowry this year then. there's always some team you don't expect to do something like this.

Guess either Powell or Lowry

They could trade Powell/Baynes/McCaw/Stanley Johnson to get it done or something along those lines. Powell is playing pretty well for them...its tough to see them trade Lowry since he has been like Mr Raptor.

but why even trade for drummond if you're trading lowry to get him ? you won't be better after and that's the only reason to do this. it's gotta be that 2nd package.

It's odd they want Drummond because Boucher is playing so well...do they want Boucher to be an 18-20 minute a night guy?

He's very productive and a load down low but his skill set is way more limited than those other guys, he's basically a rim runner that can pass the ball.

What made Gasol and Ibaka so effective is they both could shoot 3s and block shots plus they were pretty good in all facets of defensive skills. Drummond doesn't stretch the floor the way they did and though he may be better than what the Raps have he doesn't make them better than the top teams in the east let alone the west.

While I understand about stretching the floor. Drummond cleans up the misses and wears down the bigs down low. He's just as good as Marc Gasol when it comes to passing and a much better athlete when it comes to defending.

It will put them right above Boston and close to the Bucks.

it's a weird trade for them. they're gonna have to give up a player they don't want to.

Yea, I would guess it would probably be that 2nd package. Powell has been playing pretty well. Probably gotta be a little more to it or maybe it ends up falling apart

Their playoff success came from their ability to spread the floor and attack the paint and while Drummond may make them a better regular season team I don't see him as making them a better playoff team. They'd be forced to use him as a weapon to foul out other team's front courts to succeed and that might work in one series but to get to the finals that way is a tough challenge.

Nurse would have to be very good at creating an offensive game plan to score enough to get past the Nets, Sixers and Celtics while I think the Bucks would be a better matchup for them in that regard. I'm not sure they would be so good defensively they could win a 7 game series against those first 3 and may not win enough now to get a top 4 seed to avoid having to play 3 series against those top 4.

Drummond = $28MM

Tim Hardaway Jr ($18.9MM) + Willy Cauley Stein ($4.1MM) $23MM combined expiring contracts + small filler gets this deal done if Cuban wants it.

Then CLE can waive or move ex-Wildcat WCS to NYK to add to our Kentucky catnip. :D

You might be right. Just checked out head to head bewteen Drummond and Embiid. Embiid destroys him.

 THJr can give CLE a little scoring. But I do see your point...maybe a SRP?

maybe they can move wcs to a 3rd team and get 2 2nds. all these trades seem unlikely.

What would the Knicks have to offer that would cause Portland to move on from a good young player?

I mean, besides players we'd rather keep like Quickley.

Meaning, is there some area of injury concern/depth they need help with, where the Knicks could offer up some "ok" vet like Bullocks or Burks or Noel , but then add the Detroit 2nd rounder?
