My understanding is he doesn't. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/washington-football-team/alex-smith-3337/ If they cut him, then he counts 10.8 mil against the cap (2/5 time the 27 mil signing bonus he got). If they keep him at his contract, his cap hit is 24.4 mil. So, cutting him would save 13.6 mi cap space in 2021 and 5.4 mil in 2022.

As much as I love Alex Smith, I’d still have to cut him loose.

I would also ditch smith. Like I'd pay him the money if you can just slip the man a case of hundred $ bills.

Supposedly, Carson Wentz is going to be traded to Indianapolis - don't know for what. They'll have a record 33.8 mil dead cap hit from the trade. Jalen Hurts will take the hurts next season - I'm doubtful he's a good enough passer to lead them anywhere.

So if the boys loose dak, the eagles are in rebuild mode, and the giants are the giants how far do we go to push our hopes forward.

Had a dream last night that they decided to have a second Super Bowl and somehow it was the WFT vs. the Packers. First drive, Aaron Rodgers gets them down to the 1-yard line but gets concussed. His replacement comes in, botches a read/option play, and Chase Young runs is back 99 yards. As I'm rewinding the DVR to watch it again, my alarm goes off lol.

Not me. Bezos actually built worthwhile businesses. Snyder? Sold spring break magazines then ran a once proud franchise into the ground. Leonsis- lucky, right place at right time then he took a woebegone Bball franchise and kept it in the gutter.

I see Bezos being like Bisciotti or Cuban ... innovative owners who know how to choose senior leaders and know how to find under valued commodities in any market.

I just hope the penalty/penalties are just on the owner(s). If they penalize the team, then they open a can of worms and every team should be investigated. Washington football fans shouldn't have to pay for this. They should be congratulated for sticking with the team this long.

I think Alex might have made this easier on the WFT by publicly saying the Skins didn't want him to return last season. This is best for Washington. Honestly, I'd be surprised if any other team gives him a real shot to start.

He will go and sit on the bench as someone high grade insurance policy. Maybe in tamp, maybe he goes up to new england or goes back to back up the chiefs. Honestly Im happy it's over there are tons of decent qbs on the market. No reason to keep a guy you have tention with, that could turn sour. Move on.
