I don't see how we'd get him, but he'd be a sick add.

I'll never forgive Billy King for trading a lightly protected (essentially unprotected) lottery pick for a washed up Gerald Wallace. That turned out to be the 6th Overall Pick Portland used on Damian Lillard, but even worse, I LOVED Andre Drummond in that draft, thought he could be our best BIG since Darryl Dawkins (RIP), and he went three picks later (#9) to the Pistons. He would have been sitting there for the Nets at #6. :x

But even if you preferred Lillard, we should have had our choice of either one of them.

I was so furious I turned my TV off as soon as that Drummond pick was submitted.

If you want the Cavs to part with Drummond it couldn't be working out any better.

The Cavs have now lost 6 in a row
, Drummond is reportedly unhappy with all of the losing, and his contract expires at seasons end so there is no way he's coming back.

If the Cavs had a chance to steal even the last playoff seed they might stubbornly keep him, but if they keep losing the way they are now, it's only a matter of time before they trade him, probably sooner rather than later.

Right now they are closer to DEAD LAST in the East than they are to the last playoff seed.

Let's just hope it's US that they move him too.

Maybe we can offer a package of Dinwiddie, Claxton and Reggie Perry.

If they insist on Bruce Brown over Claxton or Perry, I love Brown but I'm not letting him kill this deal.

Drummond makes too much in salary, we can't trade for him unless we move Dinwiddie, Jordan and a young player.

I would love if Cleveland bought out Andre, and we can sign him with our DPE. But I'm not angling for a trade.

He must have looked awful if we worked him out and still signed Shumpert at the end.

Roberson's big issue was the inability to shoot despite being a good defender. And it doesn't look like he improved on that at all throughout his career.

Thing is that his defense declined too with his injury issues.

He definitely bears a lot of that responsibility himself.

That said, I have hated the idea of him and Allen on the floor together for extended minutes as well and really, Sexland is also a weird paring.

But still, Drummond is definitely a big part of all the current losing.

I'd take him in a heartbeat for free, but for a trade, I'd try my damnedest to get a guy like Gordon, Ross and Birch, Steven Adams and a random wing, Powell and Baynes, Harrison Barnes and Holmes, or even Horford, if we're packaging Dinwiddie, Claxton, another young minimum guy and 2nd's, along with whatever other salary filler we might need, such as Jordan.

If we are truly spending whatever. I do hope we use the DPE/players in a trade for a multi year deal. April 19 it expires and we can get around a 8million dollar contract on the team.
MLE has a possibility to be multi year as well.
Spencer contract trade would as be multi year. S&T is possible but being unrestricted is concerning. But patience might not be bad here.
These are needs as we will only have vet minimums from here on out. I’m sure that’s known and indeed the plan.
No matter how we use our moves a 30mpg paint protector and two SF/PF 3&D players. But we will have 2 multi year contracts coming in, with a possibility of a third if Spencer is moved this season.

We are so close to being Showtime with Warriors firepower.

We need to get involved in a raps trade for drummond so that Powell can get re-reouted here.

raps get drummond
cavs get a billion nets second rounders and dinwiddie
we get powell, baynes, mcgee

Giving up Spencer for next season vet minimums would be foolish. Spencer could possibly pry Clint away. Loosing him for anything other than clear starter level talent would be crazy. One of our only 6 core contracts.

Solid signing. No downside really assuming non guaranteed

If he's healthy then he's a bigger Bruce Brown who can guard elite wings and that's a solid championship type player.

I have serious questions here if he was worked out before Shump and got signed later.

whatever. all he needs to do is play defense. Scary Hours and The Boys will handle the rest.

I completely disagree. Spencer is a 20/7 lead guard. Powell is a nice microwave player. Not going to run the offense. Barley be more of defensive presence than Shamet or TJ.
Not to mention we absolutely don’t need him. He’s good but he’s no Spencer.

Powell score 16 ppg himself and does it with elite volume three point shooting and the ability to score on and off ball. is a better defender then dinwiddie as well. he is a clear cut legit starting player and was a huge part of winning a title 2 years ago. you need to put some respect on his name.
