Warriors receive:Trey Burke
Mavericks recurve: Wanamaker & Smailagic
No idea why Mavericks do it, but who cares! It works. But yeah - really don't know why they would do that. Mavs are loaded with young wings already in Terry, Greene, Burke, Jrich, Hardaway Jr.

IF the Magic want to commit to a rebuild I think everybody wins here. I don't know if they want to do that though.azwfan wrote:tarantism wrote:I'm actually pretty intrigued by Aaron Gordon for Oubre. I hadn't thought about the idea of Orlando doing a reboot and tanking this year. I came up with a SAS/GSW/ORL three teamer:
GSW gets: Aaron Gordon, Lonnie Walker
This fills both needs for the Warriors. Gordon slides right in with the starters and replicates everything Oubre brings but at a higher level and in a more team-centric way. Walker can back up Steph and also play along side him in two guard lineups. Both players are signed through next year. Three players outgoing means they can sign JTA to a normal roster spot.
SAS gets: Nikola Vucevic, Brad Wanamaker
The Spurs upgrade from Aldridge to an all-star and PERFECT fit in Vuc. They are already in playoff position but adding Vuc makes them a little dangerous. Wanamaker is just salary filler.
Orlando gets: Kelly Oubre, LaMarcus Aldridge, Jordan Poole, 2021 SA 1st, 2023 SA 1st, 2025 GSW 1st
Orlando saves 4 million now, activates a hard rebuild, get $41 million off the books for next season (+17m from Fournier expiring) and a good look at Oubre and Poole. Not to mention a trio of first round picks (with protections) that help them retool in the next few seasons.
I like this deal for us (with a different pick year) - but Im guessing its not a good deal for someone.
Also, theres no look at Poole thats “good”.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Re: Trade Thread (EPISODE VI: Can't we just put EVERYTHING in the TE?)

Personally I would do this deal. It helps our bench for next year and it also helps us get off Wiggins contract for a little more flexibility even if we are capped. Saves some repeater tax money. I like Wiggins but his inconsistencies are not worth what he is making and we can use his salary to get very good depth which we need to compete next season. Also shop Wanamaker in the process.
I know I added the minny pick but we also get Bey back in the deal which would help us more than the minny pick next season and also in the future, also added another first to maybe convince the Pistons to do the deal. Fair trade?

I don't like giving up the Minny pick in this deal. I think that's too much for me personally. We're giving up the best asset in the deal. I generally don't want to do that.

So I just read on Hoopshype that Wanamaker has right to refuse trade in his contract. I think we're stuck with him.

How TF did we get so bodied on the Wanamaker contract that we gave him a no trade clause??
That said, if he's only being used as salary ballast anyways, why would he care? Besides, not sure he's in any scenario where he can be picky about which NBA team he plays for

That's a mistake. Wanamaker can be traded.

Hard hard pass. We do t need to get out of Wiggins contract. He’s been immense for us and will be even better once he isn’t excepted to be number 2.
Don’t even get me started on giving up the Wolves pick.

How is it bad for us? Grant plays SF, Bey back up SF and Wright back up PG. It's better than what we will have next season

How is it bad? We give up the best player in the deal and a potential top pick for a top end role player and depth.

Here's a more comprehensive list, which does not include Wanamaker: https://www.hoopsrumors.com/2020/12/nba-players-who-can-veto-trades-in-202021.html
The clause you are talking about applies only if the player re-signs with his previous team for 1 year (including accepting a QO after hitting RFA) or 1+1, because he would have Early Bird or full Bird rights by the end of the deal that would not transfer if he is traded. Wanamaker does not fit that description.

cdubbz wrote:I don't think Blake is toast at all. He just doesn't have to be good in Detroit. Put him on a playoff team and he will show his worth.
I'm a 50% Warriors fan and 50% Pistons fan and follow both teams. Blake is totally washed at this point. He is pretty much only shooting 3 pointers at this point in his career, with about 62% of his shots coming from 3 point range. While there may be a very, very small probability that he is saving his body for when he is traded to a contender, he would help his trade value tremendously by showing flashes of his old self but unfortunately that version no longer exists.

id take griffin as a buy out candidate. any trade would have to include green or wiggins, and i wouldn't trade any of them for griffin.

I can't imagine what value Griffin could add to the team at this point. He's shooting 3s at 30% and that's pretty much all he does.

I'd take Griffin on a vet min contract for the upside, of course, but he definitely quit on the Pistons. I mean hardcore quit. And that might not jive with our team's mentality, because we have pronounced highs and lows
