It's just slightly less fixed than the WWE. These jokers honestly think these storylines and narratives are more important than the steadily declining quality of play on the court which is why the sport is declining. They've made it into a soap opera at this point.

Just realized Utah is 19-1 in the last 20. So that monster Jokic game is what prevented a 20 game winning streak

And he ducks marquee matchups while ready to go against teams with no or bum bigs

Missed games against

Drummond
Jokic
Valancuinas
Sabonis/Turner
Gobert

Embiid isnt a real Mvp contender

He really is having a monster year. It could potentially be one of the most impressive snub MVP seasons of all time if he continues. The passing as a C is what tips it over for me. Give him a couple more shot makers and they’d be even crazier numbers.

So, compared to lebron:
-Embiid has 3 less Ws, 6 more missed games
- Kawhi 0.5Ws, 6 more missed games
-Giannis 4.5 Ws, 1 more missed game
-Jokic 5ws, 0 more missed games

So my list is:
jokic
lebron
embiid
kawhi

sorry but losing> missing games

Embiid isn’t ducking them. Have you seen his history against those guys. He has fested on most of those matchups. It’s pretty obvious none of them can slow him down especially the way Embiid is playing.

The back stiffness is real. He took a couple of hard falls on the back already this year.

But I agree. If he doesn’t play 70% of games. He shouldn’t be considered an mvp candidate.

He may be ‘considered’ but It will take a lot more than 70% for him to win it. Especially since he is not blowing everyone else out of the water statistically. 70% played would mean 20 missed games. There is just no way he gets it if he misses 20 out of 72 and jokic/lebron miss none.

Health comes first for him so makes sense he takes care of his body

Is Embiid going to make first team all NBA? Jokic is playing just as well, if not better, and will most likely have the games played edge at the end of the season.

Mitchell only has an 18PER but being the best player with the leagues top record, he should be whispered into the conversation at least.

A good example of why a team's record shouldn't be the primary consideration in MVP discussion.

Gobert has definitely been more valuable and Conley arguably has too.

The Judgment is also very important ... You need to be an first team all-nba caliber player to be considered for the MVP.

Ya, fwiw Mitchell is tied with Joe Ingles for 3rd on the team in win shares and 4th in vorp. I can't think of any mvp almost ever who didn't lead his own team in those two metrics. Maybe Walton when he only played in about 60 games.

Lakers problems are going to be on the defensive side of the ball with AD out. He silently covers up so many of their issues on that end.

Crazy stuff - the guy puts up 43 on 70% shooting and still has to eat an L.

I think tonight was also the first time he didn't put up a double-double.

I believe the Lakers are 5-1 without AD now but might be wrong.

Jokic is playing by far the best basketball out of everyone though. Nuggets need to put some wins on the board though.

Also did Utah start the season 4-5 or something like that?

I'm thinking my list right now is:

1. Jokic
2. LeBron
3. Curry
4. Gobert
5. Embiid
6. Kawhi
7. Lillard
8. Giannis
9. Doncic
10. Davis

Simply put, guys like Kawhi, Embiid, and Durant are just missing too many games for me not to dock them significantly. The best attribute is availability and when your team is losing games without you that hurts your case. Lillard is rising quickly for me the way he's carrying the Blazers to wins despite the injuries to the team. Steph might be too high for a lot of people's liking because of the Warriors' record but he's played every game so far and I don't think he's too far behind them in performance when they're on the court, so that's enough for me to give him the edge over guys like Kawhi and Embiid who have missed like a quarter of the season so far. People get triggered seeing Gobert's name mentioned in these kinds of things but it is what it is. He's anchoring the 2nd best defense in the league and the most valuable guy on a 10 SRS 67-win pace (normal season adjusted) team. Per 36 min, he's averaging 16.5 points, 16 rebounds, 7.8 screen assists, and 3.5 blocks while shooting on 64% TS. Watch a Jazz game and pay attention to him before you complain that he doesn't have the traditional stats of a guy who should be mentioned in the MVP race.
