That would require Mitch to re-sign with the Bears, which I believe we all know that literally is not going to happen.

And Carson Wentz apparently prefer going to Indy. Well, I prefer him going to Indy, also. Bears should aim higher (no I am not talking about Mitch's overthrows) than Carson Wentz.

Beggers can't be choosers. Who is gonna sign Mitch to be their starter? He'd absolutely come back here if he was the starter.

First off SAS usually talks out of his behind especially when it comes to the NFL. But why would Pace and the Bears ownership offer Trubisky a contract to be the starter here again after it has been a proven failure? Pace needs to fix the huge mistake he made if he wants to stick around. To me that means moving on from Trubisky, getting that bad taste out of your mouth, and making a bold move. I'm just hoping that move doesn't cost us our future assets just so he can try to save his own job.(Unless it is Watson and we don't overpay for someone like Wentz or Carr) Ownership cannot let that happen.

And I could totally see Trubisky signing with another team to compete for the starting job. I don't think he will be just handed the starting job anywhere and he knows that. He will have to win it wherever he signs and he could look at the Pats or maybe the Washington Football Team just to name a couple teams. Heck he might even prefer a backup job somewhere where he can eventually be a starter over coming back here for the same old song and dance and lack of appreciation and finger pointing and carrying all the blame. Being taken over Watson and especially Mahomes has probably been a lot of weight to carry on his back.

I don't want Mitch back. But if we strike out on all the better options, that's who we're left with.

Darnold Carr and minshew are probably our only options now. Unless we clear enough space for dak or the Texans decide to trade Watson

There plenty of options. Tyrod Taylor, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Marcus Mariota, Jacoby Brissett, Jameis Winston, Nick Mullens.

There's a lot of space in between trading for Watson or Wentz and bringing back Trubisky.

I'd like to give Winston a shot. Better than Minshew or overpaying for Carr.

Yeah, the devil is definitely in the details here with regards to how “interested” we were. If they had even mild interest in Wentz, they’d have gotten him. Very glad to see that this was most likely smoke and mirrors coming from the Philly side.

All the talk about how "we need to get more out of the QB position", and likely we'll see them just ride it out with Mitch for another year, and keep hoping he will redeem their faith in him.

Likely? Really?

The blogs with insider connections are reporting they're going after Carr pretty hard right now.

What's the deal with Carr? He's still pretty young. Do the Raiders already have a replacement? Was it a contract issue? I'm just wondering about the history of that situation.

Well, he's on a huge contract, and Mariota came in and played really well that last game. So maybe they think they can dump his salary and go with Mariota.

I'll believe it when it happens. The O line has been a problem for about 7 years now, and every year they say they will address it, and every year they just patch it together with a bunch of retreads and spare parts and hope it will improve.

I think Wentz is going to be great in Indy. Great fit and org to maximize him.

Teams have inquired about Carr and they got firm "Not available" comments. I can't imagine they want to open their shiny new stadium with a backup.

This isn't what anyone wants to hear, but Pace/Nagy may be willing to roll with Foles as their starter. I understand that this sounds crazy to fans, but Nagy wanted Foles as his starter last season. Foles sucked for sure, but his starts fell when the O-line was at its most crippled. It might just be Foles and the search might be for an "insurance" NFL-ready backup like Fitzpatrick or Mariotta.
