Re: Trade for Bigs idea
Drummond is unrealistic unless he ends up getting bought out, which is good because he isn’t worth the players we’d have to give up to match salary.

Re: Trade for Bigs idea
Some of you haven't been watching the games. Its been a literal freeway down the middle of the lane. Weve been built defensively to chase guys off the Line. But now we have to sink deep, then go chasing is a difficult task without some sort of mcgee or dwight howard back there. We are built for some teams like a Brooklyn Nets, heavy perimeter teams. But the Lanes this past week have been wide open. I don't think or know if Drummond is an answer, but with AD out, we are going to hit a rough stretch

Re: Trade for Bigs idea
Is Blake interesting if he secures a buy out?
Dunno about his defence. Otherwise an injury prone, savvy offensive talent and great passer, who hasn't dunked the ball so far this year. He's taking 60% of his shots from 3 this season @ 31.5%.
I'm just trying to find a way to avoid another Dwight / McGee with Trez already here, which basically shuts down driving lanes permanently for the rest of the team. It isn't alright, just because we won last year.
If we run out of options, I'd rather we get Whiteside than the rest cos he's a far better defender and rebounder, who basically owned Dwight and AD(11.6r per 36) inside during the Blazers series, till Frank sat the centers after the 3rd game and played him out of the game. Rebounding / boxing out is a weakness for this team, where he should help. He has a 10-12 ft range also, which isn't as bad as Dwight. He does struggle with his motivation levels, but being around a championship squad should help. And I'd rather have him than Dwight committing a foul every 2 mins on the floor, as he was against Denver.

The Win Loss record may seem to show that, but there's no way this team wins a playoff series without AD. And there's no way this team wins a championship without fully engaged, bubble-AD.

Wait for buyout season. No player worth trading now.
RoLo or Noel or Drummond or Griffin or Tyson Chandler
I actually really like Muscala to pair with AD when he's back.

Re: Trade for Bigs idea
I love the super high potential of Mo Bamba and seems that he is somehow already a decent player now. Maybe, with Jabbar do his magic to centers, he can form the best front court with AD. His playing style allows him to play alongside both Gasol and AD as well. A 3 team trade of Schroder / Harrell and Mckinnie for Mo bamba and a decent guard ?
Another one pop up in my mind was Myles Turner
Demain Jones and Mo Wagner may be considered as cheap trade target too.
If someone good / great is available in the buyout market, I should be pleased to get him.

Out of all the bigs we gave up. I wonder which was the best. Or would best serve our needs. I've always liked that one dude we gave up, forgot his name, but he was a young buck out of Indiana U. Anyways, second would be zubac.

I am not understanding why we are not utilizing two available bigs we have right now in Cacok and Ante younger brother.

Re: Official trade thread 20-21 edition
Do any of these guys make sense to help us with our 3 point shooting?
Grayson Allen
Parry Mills
Wayne Ellington
Gary Trent Jr
Rozier
Malik Beasley
Norman Powell
JJ Reddick
Kleber
We can't be in the bottom 5 of threes made on a team with Lebron and AD, just not acceptable

You're talking about Thomas Bryant. Dude would have done wonders for our 5 spot.

my wish would be tradin kuzma and THT for guys like beal who we know can get buckets. we would need to trade harrel or kcp or dennis as a cap filler most likely but lets try to sell tht high for a third star at least. try and get a rim protector while at it

What are you giving up? Any GM you call is going to ask for THT or Caruso as the Lakers don't have any picks to trade.

As much as I like THT, for the right guy he can definitely be traded. He doesn't fit our AD-Bron timeline and from what I've seen this season he isn't that good in reading the defence and he gets caught a lot in situations. It's obviously a growth thing and he had big potential, but that's in 3-4 year at least. If we could get a great player whilst including THT, you got for it.

Sure but would you give up THT for a guy like Ellington, Grayson or Redick? It might solve some shooting issues and then you end up short a wing defender and it would end up like trading Zubac for Msucala, in the sense that you have a hole in the roster at the end of the season as opposed to a guy who can give you internal development when short of picks and cap space, which the Lakers will be for the foreseeable future.

THT is a guard with a long wingspan, so no he is not a wing defender that will defend a guy like Kawhi, Tatum, Butler, KD, Tobias Harris.
Wes, Kuzma, Bron, and AD will take on those duties. Maybe even some Kieff or Ariza on a buyout?
He is not a great off ball defender
He can't shoot
AC is more valuable
I wouldn't move THT for Ellington. JJ is not doable b/c of contract w/o adding more, so cancel it
I would move him for Grayson Allen
He is 25, so can stay around for some time and a 40%+ shooter for this year and last yr
