One thing I miss most of living in Boston were the college radio stations. WZBC 90.3, WMBR 88.1 being the two best I could get reception. WERS good too, but felt too much like commercial radio at times. Living in the midwest it's just all the same top-40 and country, I don't think I've heard one college radio station.

I loved ERS on Fridays listenin to the new hip-hop joints as they came out. I still remember when they premiered Hip Hop Hooray by Naughty by Nature. I used to make my mixtapes from recording stuff on that station.

It feels like it changed a lot in the last ten years to me, moving towards a more produced, polished product that I didn't really like; but I really only like radio for discovering music that I would otherwise have no idea how to discover. I wanna hear that raw stuff that when I look them up they have 1200 views on Youtube. I definitely am not old enough to have listened to Naughty by Nature's early stuff be premiered. The All Acapella show was fun at times, but that's something that at least for me, I have to be in a very specific mood to actually enjoy.

Youtube sort of is the new radio though. For me at least. I used to tape off the radio, now I rip off of Youtube.

I try to find radio playlists, pull songs up on Youtube, listen for 10 secs and download if it might grow on me.

There are some good subreddits for finding undiscovered-ish music like https://www.reddit.com/r/listentothis/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/under10k/ too.

A wonderful human being continues to do wonderful things. So worth the time. Has raised over 120K since last March at the expense of his own income. And he's funny and entertaining.

Older than me, but certainly not old. I was but 8 when that song was released. Maybe you were listening to it when you were in elementary school, though?

Age is but a number. If you drank enough water and skipped the Pitino era, you could easily shave fifteen years off your age.

Just watched Operation Odessa on Netflix. True crime gangster type of documentary. Entertaining watch and not a lot of brainpower required if you just want an easy weekend watch.

Sucks but on the bright side the house music scene is thriving. There's a million artists releasing quality music. I've been enjoying these playlists for house music:

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2P8StGDIQ4zouaWlzAyNJv?si=96c6d59422124402

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DXbXD9pMSZomS?si=64dc39c3e8034250

And this is a fiiiiiire Dre / house music mashup (although you can barely hear the bass on my work laptop speakers so I suggest listening on some decent speakers).

I don't know when it was filmed, but he did have cancer a while ago so it could have been during that time as he had no hair.
