Remember last season I was telling you he’s on the same level as Booker. He’s better than him now
Desperate take. "He's better than him" nah.
Booker hasn't even peaked yet, Lavine is great and no doubt an elite guard but Booker is the leader and go to scorer on a VERY good Phoenix team who are 19-10 West.
Bulls are fighting with the Knicks for 8th/9th seed in the East. Lavine is having the better season individually but I wouldn't say he's better as a player right now if we look at their attributes. Lavine is shooting phenomal this season and always had an arsenal of offense and he will continue to break records through his career. Lavine with the 13 threes, Devin with the 70 points. We both are witnessing upcoming SG legends, along with Beal. All guys can shoot, score at 25-28 ppg freely and haven't peaked yet.
Right now I say it's 1a/1b type situation. A healthy draw between the two. As the season plays out and numbers begin to get normalize, you'll see that their production are both similar and essentially are at the same tier because historically they both been bad defensive guards and the one thing you notice this year is their individual and switching defense has improved and it also shows in their defensive rating because they're both posting career ratings on defense.
I think this conversation will have more balance if we get to see both guys in the playoffs and see how they do for their teams. They're both the Go To Guy but Lavine has more work to do since his cast is extremely raw with White, Carter Jr and Williams where as Booker is playing with a very good roster with hall of famer Chris Paul, #1 pick in Ayton and Mikel Bridges/Cam Johnson who basically solidify the F position for Phoenix since both guys can play both sides and Bridges is extremely underrated. I think Booker can take his team further based on the fact he has more help. I believe Lavine is naturally clutch and can preform big it's just right now he doesn't have a good team. If you watch Bulls game, Lavine most of the time is the only one game. Williams is good but just a rookie.
But yea, Lavine is elite. Honestly they're two of the best SG's not named Beal.
