You never know. Finch could literally decide to leave the Wolves for the Bucks coaching job if available. Like who wouldn't.

Contracts usually only allow you to leave for a promotion, so going from one head coaching gig to another is normally shot down by the team.

Are coaches allowed to ask for buyouts?

I imagine they are but can't think of an instance where it's happened at the moment.

Damn, I thought they would have to name an interim head coach until the season was over if they were going to hire a current assistant coach to be their head coach.
For lease.

You underestimate the disfunction of the Wolves. I'm surprised Casey hasn't wanted out of the Pistons as well.

A Wolves 2nd rounder would be an amazing return. Doubt it happens though.

Good for him. There's only 30 of these jobs on the planet. Sucks that he has to go from Tampa so someplace colder than Toronto.

I don't know what he can do to turn around Minnesota. Was it really Saunders fault that Russell got hurt and that KAT got COVID? They got some decent young pieces but the key word is young. There's barely any veteran leadership on that team.

Hope he does well.

That's asking a lot of him. A new head coach with no training camp and you're asking him to inspire someone to play better. Kat should be inspiring himself to play better. I think this season and next season is pretty close to the last two season for him to show that he's still a franchise leading player. He's at best a 2nd option on a championship team at this point.

Saunder was a garbage coach. We all bash Nick Nurse at the beginning of the season for being bad. You haven't seen Saunders yet. He was easily second to Boylan last season to being the worst coach in the NBA.

For goddamn sure, Coach Finch got his work cut out for him.
