You damn well know Coach FInch already gave Nicky his floppy discs full of offensive sets.

no way assistant coaches in the nba make less than 100k. Maybe in the WNBA. But yeah he probably more than quadrupled his salary.

I don't know what he can do to turn around Minnesota. Was it really Saunders fault that Russell got hurt and that KAT got COVID? They got some decent young pieces but the key word is young. There's barely any veteran leadership on that team.

Hope he does well.

Saunder was a garbage coach. We all bash Nick Nurse at the beginning of the season for being bad. You haven't seen Saunders yet. He was easily second to Boylan last season to being the worst coach in the NBA.

He almost cost them our first matchup by keeping Kat out like halfway thru the 4th. The second game he played a struggling Rubio at the end over McClaughlin who was tearing us up. He was in over his head.

And today they took his head.

He literally only got this job because of his father's name and his relationship with the Wolves. He never should have gotten the head coaching job.

Wonder whats going to happen, there's a lot of good assistant coaches in the league already who arent lead assistants. It would be nice to poach one of them away from another team, it just seems difficult to do all this mid-season.

Usually you don’t get compensation for promotion but maybe because it is mid-season it’s possible. Would only be a 2nd if there were. But I think Raptors just let him go with best wishes.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

good on the raptors for not blocking the move, they could have easily played the card that its midseason etc. promoting from within and stuff like this draws more talent to your organization long term.

I thought it was refreshing to have a Timberwolves fan here temporarily. Someone who has a real reason not to be cheering for the Raptors. I guess when insults are thrown at their team, they are not allowed to push back. That's too bad.

Still got Jama Mahlalela who technically was to be that "front row" coach when Scariolo goes to Spanish team. So I guess now Jama gets to be Nurse's left-hand man. Then when 905 season ends, Patrick Mutumbo will be back and able to provide that "front row" experience.

If the Raptors give permission, yes.

Letting Finch go midseason hurts us in the short term, but pays dividends in the long term. One more reason why top tier coaches would want to work for Nurse.

If you're an assistant, you do not turn down one of the 30 head coaching jobs in the NBA.

The Nurse coaching tree continues to grow.

It’s a dead end job! If I’m an assistant who is competitive and wants to win, timberwolves is one of the last place I want to coach for, along with the Pistons, Cavs and Kings. Continual lottery team who can’t win even with THREE first overall picks in the last few years.....

Same for Charlotte! Borrego went there, they dumped Batum, used cap on Hayward and drafted Ball and in the playoff hunt.

Things could change quickly for each of those teams with a top 6 pick in this draft.
