"wow" should never be the reaction when philly loses. they are a mediocure team with a losing record vs. 500+ teams

i think we got it right, lol.

I love KD and I know he's the best player on the team (when healthy), maybe in the league, and Kyrie is an athletic freak show, but thus far James Harden is definitely the MVP of this team in my view.

Your eyes tell you truth. Harden elite when it comes to control tempo and elevate entire teams level of play.
Kyrie and KD elite scorers and can create every now and than, they can't hold Hardens gatorade when it comes to be playmaker for the entire game.

I'm amused the way Harden played D this trip. Guy is rock down low and has quick hands on a perimeter. Check some tape and see for yourself, he's been nothing short of amazing.

He's also a terrific rebounder for a 6' 5" Guard.

Preach... I keep pointing this out but it falls on deaf ears. I like how Philly's pieces fit better this year but they haven't been that impressive when you look at their record in context.

Sadly I missed this game. Can someone give me a quick summary of how we pulled this off?

crazy stat...

nets only team in league history (since calculating it) where all 5 starters have a 60 TS% or better:

kyrie 64
durant 65
harden 67
Harris 70
DJ 76/Green 64

Harden is the best player in Brooklyn. These performances are going to be the norm.

Nets last 5 games defensively

109.1 points allowed per 100 possesions. would rank them 5th in the NBA.

We've legit owned the West this year. We're 10-3 overall against the West this year, and 8-0 against the current playoff teams.

Wonder how many times an East team dominated the top teams in the West, while being the weaker conference. It's gotta be incredibly rare.

I know we traditionally do the King, Knight and Jester thing,
but DeAndre Jordan deserves a shoutout for PLAY OF THE GAME too.

That put-back of Kyrie's missed 3 is what won us the game, and it's about time we give DJ some love. Not only for that play, but for his play as of late. He's turned it around and is playing on a much higher level than he was early; offensively, defensively and rebounding.

He's still gonna need some help at the 5 because he's not a young man and Uncle Jeff (who God willing is healthy) is more of a 3/4 swing man, even a 4 if that's where we want to play him, but we still need another legit 5 so we don't wear DJ out with too many minutes. Most of us want Drummond, ME TOO, but if we can't get him maybe we should give the Lakers competition for Cousins? Not saying we should. Just throwing it out there.

Dinwiddie for Cousins?

DJ and Cousins splitting time at the 5, with Uncle Jeff taking about 10 minutes might work,
and Cousins is only making around 2.5 million with Houston so the contracts might work too?

Then when Claxton comes back he can take minutes at the 4 and 5 too, to help out Uncle Jeff.

Prokorov wrote:Another great win and we put an exclamation point on that road trip. Like Kyrie said, when they click, the league will be put on notice. consider tonight's game official notice.

I know this turned out to be a 1 possession game but i thought we really outplayed them. We got a bit to lax trying to milk clock with a big lead and then took too many wild haymakers once they got back in it. missed a bunch of FTs followed by them hitting threes. it seemed every offensive rebound they got led to a three. Harden was great but he is usually even better. Kyrie was decent, he is usually better. Shamet missed a ton of open threes. harris missed some open threes. this should have been a 20-point laugher. and all of that is without Durant.

-Harden was elite. he controlled the game. he was relentless. any time they missed, harden pushed and scored or got us an easy shot. hit some big step back threes. he had so many scores to stop a clippers run in its tracks

-Kyrie was just human tonight, but i thought his stretch to end the third with 6 points to put us up 11 headed to the 4th was huge for us. He missed the clutch daggers and haymakers he usually hits the last 2 minutes but he did hit a big bucket with 3:30 to go then found harris for the layup on the next possession

-DJ played great. we gave up some offensive rebounds but he was in their fighting and got a bunch in traffic. his tip in was obviously enormous. so was splitting his 2 free throws after harden missed both.

-Brown did everything tonight. a perfect game for what his role is.

-Harris/Shamet combined 4-15 from three (shamet 1-7). Harris was solid but on a good night he is closer to 6-8 then 3-8 given the open looks. I know landry is a whipping boy but he doesnt go 1-7 often and he has been hot lately.

Honeslty i think if shamet hits that three off the brown steal when we were up 15 we win this win by 20+. that would have broken them completely.

-Nash coached a really good game. im glad to see we are playing a ton more zone. it just makes sense. yeah we give up threes and layups but not nearly as many as we already were giving up. and he is starting to roll with DJ after they got into a heated one. still would like to see him figure out timeouts and challenges and not be so super stubborn small ball but at least he isnt actively costing us games anymore.

-Kyrie with the dunk. sometimes you forget how athletic he is since he toned that down with how much time he misses to injury but he still has sick hops. in boston a couple years ago he would throw down windmills in layup lines like it was nothing. i thought that put a hop in our step.

-Paul george is empty stats trash. people talk about kyrie as a cancer but that dude does so little for his team. then he makes excuses then off the court is paying strippers he knocked up to have abortions. yet somehow he is fine and dandy but kyrie is a bad guy

The nets continue to curb stomp good teams and the west

Not having Green, TLC, and Johnson hurt this team far more than we are comfortable to admit.

We have a three game home stand coming up where we can feasibly push this streak to 9 wins. But the lack of available bodies is concerning. We can't ride Harden and Kyrie for 40 mins every night.

Nash is going to have to at least put Roberson and Claxton into the rotation if Green and TLC are out for some games. We have no choice.

I hope I'm not wrong, but Green didn't look like he got hit too hard and they didn't put his arm in a sling before he walked off. It could still be something bad (long term), but if you're looking for a reason to be optimistic maybe some anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers gets him back on the court as soon as the next game.

I hope so. Looks like he has a nagging rib injury that got compromised last night thanks to that dirty play.

PG is such a sore loser lol

“They had the refs in their pockets.”

“They played a unique defense we haven’t really seen and it threw us off.”

Meanwhile, Kawhi can walk out after one question while interrupting another player’s press conference.

 @ a zone being unique. Christ dude

they had their full squad, we didn't, and we controlled them for 48 minutes. They should be concerned.
