Vote Trae Young

Kawhi is the hardest player due to the more to us than to you idea, but I still have a hard time voting for a player who can leave this summer over young controlled star like Young

This is where it gets really hard for me. I felt like the top 12 (in terms of who those guys would be) was pretty clear (and I admit that I favor vets in the prime of their career over young guys w/hypothetical upside in these polls). I think now it's time to switch to some of the young guys that could reach the level of a top 10 player, so I'll start with who I think is closest to being able to do that on at least offense:

V: Trae Young
N: Lamelo Ball

V KAT
N Might abstain from this one waiting for ideas, but a comparison of young guards (and SGA has an extra rookie year or 2, and I know box score production isn't everything but figured it's an interesting comparison:

V: Kawhi
N: Mitchell (neck n neck with Booker imo, so since he has votes and a chance to get in, I’ll vote for him instead this time).

Vote: Kawhi still have him in the elite of the elite does everything you want. I get the load management issues are there and how contract situation isn't the greatest bit look at the body of work especially this year.

This is where it gets really hard to decide who is more valuable, do you go with a guy like Kawhi Leonard who has a huge contract that is only 1 more year and an option year, or a young guy like Ja or Trae who are on rookie contracts then there is Sabonis who is just on a good contract for the team and produces big time. And then the guys like Mitchell and Booker who are young but on big contracts.

I'm gonna have to go with Trae Young here.

Which has always been the flaw with these polls. Most trade value for a contending team or a rebuilding team? Big market team where stars aren't flight risks, or small market team where players are going to demand a trade if you're not winning soon?

V: Ja
N: Mitchell

basketballwacko2 pointed out the struggles well. Kawhi is tempting but you get him for one year where as Ja has a lot more control. At this point I think I am ok taking Ja over the others, but I'm also probably bias ha.
