Ron Swanson wrote:No one's gonna trade an asset for PJ Tucker. He's just a guy that can fill that Marvin Williams role and that's why he's the type of guy we should be looking at cuz, you know.....we have no assets.

the little "news" story RealGM posted suggest DDV might be implicated in a trade for him. that makes us worse, unless we're also getting something BETTER than Tucker back in the trade.

I wouldn’t give up Pat for PJ. I’d give up a DJ or two, but Pat for all the flack we give him is a solid bench player.

I wonder what Houston would want for Tucker + Oladipo. During FA, Zach Lowe said to keep an eye on the Bucks w/r/t Oladipo and it was reported that Oladipo trained with Giannis in Greece.

Donte for Tucker would be disastrous. This is not 2018 Tucker, not even close

How has Oladipo looked this year?

Possible his value has declined since the Pacers passed on our offer for him over the summer.

On the other hand I’m not sure how he’d fit with Holiday much less whether we are confidant enough in his health to pay Dipo what he’s liable to get on the star-free free agent market this offseason.

Lopez (third team potentially)
DDV
Wilson (expiring)
2nd

Has to be getting close to Oladipo rental level value.

Giannis + 3 borderline all stars. All good defensively. All can get 20+ on a given night.

Maybe?????

Oladipo has **** sucked this year you guys. He might actually be able to score 20, but he's going to make sure to take 20 shots to do it.

He's also injured, as per usual.

ETA: An injury-washed DeMarcus Cousins is the most appealing "asset" being discussed which is really sad.

I haven't watched Oladipo play once this year so couldn't tell ya.

Oladipo has had exactly one year where you could legitimately call him a star. Every other year is just a good defensive player with varying levels of offensive efficiency from mediocre to ****. I don't understand a lot of this board's fascination with him.

Think I'd rather call ORL about Fournier than Dipo at this point.

Yeah it’s becoming pretty clear he’s never going to get back to that level and won’t even come close.

2017-18 Dipo was a **** demon though. Just a monster two way player, one of my favorite two guard seasons of the past decade. It sucks that his injury issues killed it.

Frank Nova wrote:What’s the fascination with PJ Tucker? I’m not even sure he’s worth a vet min after a buyout let alone trading an asset for. I keep seeing all this stuff on social media about Tucker linked to MKE. What issue other than “toughness” does Tucker solve? If he can play 15mpg like Bruce Bowen in the playoffs then I guess he’s worth looking into but what are really the chances of that?

We definitely need to consolidate the redundancy and mediocreness of DDV Pat Forbes Augustin. Keep 2 and offer the other 2 and Brook for Oladipo or something.

This team with Holiday can compete with Other Philly, Boston, Toronto and Miami no question. We should be the best of that bunch in theory but no chance we are getting past Brooklyn. If Giannis can lose the ECF in more than 5 games he should feel like he won a title this year.

Out of those 4, I hope we keep DDV and Forbes, and package the other 2 with DJW for a better player but with higher salary. Rubio makes sense.

Houston got Oladipo for an always injured Caris Levert and a 2nd.

Oladipo's value to Houston seemed to be his expiring contract.

It would be bad even for 2018 Tucker.

It would be such a Bucks move to trade a young player for a broken down one.

Sign Ariza if he is bought out

Holiday - Temple - Merrill
DDV - Pat - Forbes
Middleton - Ariza - Nwora
Giannis - Tucker - Thanasis
Lopez - Portis - Diakite

Meh. Not bad but I'd hope we could do better.

I agree but it does work and if the Bucks are really interested in Tucker it may be one of the better scenarios available. Not incredibly excited about the Temple, Ariza, Tucker, Lopez Uncle Drew lineup though. Suki would be incredibly overworked.

It would be an upgrade though and in theory fix many of the issues off the bench.

HOU is basically taking on $6mil for a 2nd rd pick in 2023? Why wouldn't they just let Tucker expire and buy a 2nd for $300k?
