Re: Around the NBA: 2020-21 Season
What's up with Kemba this season? Looks like his production drop significantly this season. I thought he was still pretty good last year, should still within his peak at 30, probably have 3-4 more years.
I mean, with the Celtics playing below expectation, Ainge is probably looking for moves that can improve his team. Would you do a package of Coby + OPJ's expiring + filler (dunno who), for Kemba? Ainge likes future pieces, and Coby give him that. He's probably the right guy to play 3rd fiddle behind Tatum and Brown. They get to unload Kemba's contract with OPJ's expiring (if they feel Kemba no longer fit their plan).
I heard about Thad Young being a possible Ainge target, but I don't think I want to include him for Kemba. But Kemba if there's really no major issue with him, he should be a good backcourt partner for Zach, no? I'm thinking maybe he's at least a better option than short-term Kyle Lowry rental.

Kemba had a knee injury and has not looked the same. Stay far away.

10 future first rounders from the Celtics to take off that albatross contract.

It is an albatross if Kemba is indeed done, we should stay away from him. If Kemba is his normal self, it could be worth it. It's a contract that will expire in 2023 (he has team option in 2023), so it's not like we're crippling ourselves for the next 5 years. And for similar amount of money, on normal circumstances, I'd take Kemba over Wetsbrook or Wall.

As great as lebron is i always feel as if he will come up short on clutch free throws or last second shots.

Boylen has scratched his basketball itch this season by spending time with the Trail Blazers, Loyola Marymount, and Florida Gulf Coast. He’s due in Toledo in March.
Just shows how poor GarPaxDorf have been as evaluators to make him their head coach, give him an extension, have a say in personnel decisions, and support him throughout his tenure. They were completely out of touch with reality.

Boylen was by all accounts a fine assistant coach. But a terrible head coach, because he doesn't understand his limitations ... he needs to work with somebody who tells him to concentrate on what he does well, and forget about trying to do anything else.

Kemba is a bad idea. Ainge only trades broken down trash.

Re: Around the NBA: 2020-21 Season
Boylen was a defensive assistant coach. And he ran the defense w/ the Spurs that won a title, that happened. No amount of Bulls fans hate will undo that.
Bulls organization instead of paying for a HC replacement to Hoiberg, just made Boylen do the job on top of his old job. He turned out to be unqualified to do anything other than defense. Offense, player motivation, in game adjustments, player development; it all was terrible. He was the anti-Steve Kerr, who told GS he was great at everything but not Xs & Os, that wasn't his job. That's why he hires assistants.
Bolyen was not 100% failure, he was still good at his old job. The Bulls defense last year, 12th, is still better than the Bulls defense this year (18th).
Boylen isn't some weird case, Ron Adams is one of the best defensive assistants in the league and AFAIK he's never been mentioned once for a HC gig, not even by himself. His counterpart Alvin Gentry, tried to be a HC after being an offensive assistant and was largely a flop even after running one of the best offenses in history.
This is why I was against hiring more assistants for our vacant HC spot and wanted a HC. The two are different skillsets IMO. Clearly there assistants who can be great HCs, eg Thibs. It can happen, but I think the Thibs of the world who stay as assistants for like 20 years are very rare. Assistants who can be great HCs tend to get identified sooner or later, like Nurse.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.
