Re: New York Yankees Thread
German is such an idiot to ruin an opportunity like this.
He could've been a great rotation piece.

As for gardner. No doubt he was coming back. Its to easy to predict. He just better not be gifted a starting spot
Ill wait to see what happens and try not to jump to conclusions. Britton was asked a question and answered it honestly I respect him for that. I believe there is a lot of anger still from the clubhouse and rightfully so. German cost his team the last 2 years especially ruining a night at the CC gala and ultimately costing the team a world series as he was the Yankees best pitcher in 2019 and owned the Astros would Yankees have won it all who knows. German made a very selfish decision that cost his team in CC last year, injury you can't control a bad performance on the field is one thing. I dont think German has talked to his team yet, he owes them big time and the team will need him.
bruh...he beat his girlfriend. that's enough to feel disgusted. it ain't about the chip at this point.
Of course thats a bigger deal then a championship, theres the off the field point of it which is the bigger deal, then the
team part of it. When I say i won't jump to conclusions I'm talking about the relationship with his teammates not what he did off the field nor am I defending him. Im disgusted how the Yankees handled this, German is a POS human being. Everyone is affected by stupid selfish decision most importantly his gf (ex gf I would hope) his family, then your teammates are your extended family. You make them feel uncomfortable in that clubhouse and you haven't talked to them supposedly. Im just saying affecting the moral in that clubhouse is a big deal, of course it pales in comparison to what he did to his gf.

Surprise, surprise, first pen session too. We know how this usually goes 3-4 weeks of no throwing then rehab, then needs to be shutdown again, shut him down maybe he can come back in August. Comes back in September then he needs TJ surgery. Same old story.

Holy crap this dude is brain dead.
Also more insight on how teams are manipulating service time, the player’s union needs to address that in the next CBA.

Re: New York Yankees Thread
I've said this before, I think the Yankees front office, like the fans, have gone overboard with the analytics and advanced stats nutting. Honestly, how did major league players ever throw a pitch or swing a bat before analytics took over. Guys like Steve Carlton and Bert Blyleven are rolling over in their graves right now. If you asked these guys about analytics and rotation they'd plunk you in the head the next time you step anywhere near the batters box. Same with Hank Aaron who said that there was no secret sauce in how he hit so many homers and did so well for so long. He simply did his homework then see the ball, hit the ball. It's almost like they are trying to artificially generate a pitcher that is better than nature intended him to be. That might work with a nutjob like Trevor Bauer but for most guys? Just let them throw the ball the way they've thrown it all along. Or if you want to try to change his mechanics, start when he first arrives at Low-A ball. Don't start tinkering now after he's already used to throwing what he's throwing for years now in the minor.s

Well said.
Have you heard of this new “Gas Station” bullpen they built at GMS Field? Apparently the inside looks like Drago’s gym from Rocky IV.

The Yankees aren't going to cut a starter that won 18 games for them and that is being paid pocket change when they are likely going to need every starter they can muster as insurance due to injury. And now that Schmidt just went down, the chances are even less likely.
Let's be honest, Hal Steinbrenner agreed to take him back cause he saw how much they were paying him. All that jibbidy-jibe about the Yankees really taking domestic violence serious and that he personally knows that German has seen the error of his ways is just BS talk so that he doesn't look bad to the media.

From the boxscore it was the Yankees B team that played. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

Re: New York Yankees Thread
All his personal sh-t aside, German is still a tremendous arm.
Would be impossible to part from him and have him possibly sign with a rival team.
He needs to keep himself in check.
