Funny how Booker has gleaguers as teammates for multiple years and he is an empty stad padder. Luka is put with much better talent than Book had from year 1 but is excused from criticism when his flaws are shown. Lmao.

Addition of CP3, Crowder and the improvement of Bridges and Frank have a lot more to do with it. Booker is worse than he was last season to be honest though thats due to a really poor start to this season.

I feel like now he has teammates can rely on he will only get better in the long run and the playoffs

So far I am a bit disappointed in Ayton and Booker to be honest. If they can take the next step into becoming legit superstars then the Suns will be as good as any team in the league.

Ayton has been the most polarizing player on the team for Suns fans, he has been inconsistent offensively and at times loses focus but there's really no denying his defense is vastly improved and that's one of the biggest improvements responsible for the Suns winning, Cp3 gets all the media credit and he is due his fair share but Ayton and the teams defense and their under rated depth are also big reasons.
Booker looked lost playing with Cp3 at the beginning of the year at times, he deferred when he needed to be aggressive and went hero too often when he was frustrated, but in the last month or he and Cp3 are clicking and you can tell at least for now they enjoy playing together.

People want Booker to be an All-Star because he averages over 20 points a game but he's not been good over the season.

PER sets league average at 15, it being a strictly offensive stat it makes sense Booker is at least still somewhat above league average with 17.4 but for a guy supposed to be your best offensive player this is mediocre. BPM and WS/48 also take some form of defense into account and the barely above average offense of Booker immediately gets dragged down by his still lackluster defense, resulting in below league average marks of 0.86 WS/48 and -1 BPM.

Edit: these numbers will probably start to rise when the numbers of the Blazers game are added but even then Book has a long way to go.

He goes to the Rockets and they have their best seasons with Harden, he goes to the OKC and they start winning, now he's on the Suns.

The guy just knows how to run a team.

Has nothing to do with Booker? Got it. Thanks for the amazing hot take.

I honestly knew that this was going to happen.

    1. Booker plays with a bunch of glorified G-Leaguers:

"sure he's putting up good stats, but they're meaningless because the Suns are losing.Talk to me when he's winning. "

    2. Booker gets surrounded by actual NBA players (mind you that much of his key supporting cast is still super young) - Suns have one of the best records in the league:

"Booker is only winning due to his teammates."

Chris Paul is amazing, don't get me wrong, but Booker haters are just in denial at the moment and grasping for straws. Booker played on a team where Dragan Bender and Josh Jackson were second and third on the team in total minutes played - and people were knocking him for not winning basketball games  .

I believe this post was over 2 years ago

That would be even stupider since the Mavs went obviously tank mode after dismanteling the team and leaving Luka with just reserve players who would just barely make any team rotation in the league.
If you're asking me who the Mavs best player is, I'd say Luka. A guy like Delon Wright probably rivals his impact though at this stage in his career. KP may as well if he gets his **** together.

What are you talking about? Rookie Luka was already competing with his team for the playoffs with DeAndre Jordan as his right hand man until the team was dismantled. He then led the most efficient offense of all time into the playoffs where he played brilliantly against a then hailed as a finalist in the Clippers. He had some struggles this year partly due to coming into the league out of shape, for which he should and was rightfully critizised, but is back to old form and has even improved on defense and the past 8 games even showed noticable improvements in terms of efficiency. The Mavs had some of the worst luck with Covid sickness and injuries, only Miami was hit worse. KP is a overall a net negative who does not even provide all that much rim protection so there is a clear decline all around where the team was one of the best 3 point shooting teams in the league to be rock bottom. Anyone who has actually watched the Mavs game, which I doubt you have, can only shake their head in amazemed just how many bricks Luka`s team mates are laying from wide open jumpers which is why he leads the league in potential assists. Despite that he still takes the blame and does not throw his team mates under the bus yet he is only 22 years old. He is also highly critical of himself and has admitted that he complains too much for example.
What flaws are "exposed" and what criticism is Luka above? Unlike Booker Luka is already a proven winner who would have a shot getting into the HoF on his Euro resume alone.
If you're asking me who the Mavs best player is, I'd say Luka. A guy like Delon Wright probably rivals his impact though at this stage in his career. KP may as well if he gets his **** together.

Until this year Book hadn't played with anyone as good as a healthy KP. This is just more Mavs/Luka huggers whining and making excuses.

Luka is on a different planet than Booker as a player. You're wasting your time comparing them.

He's the perfect 1st scoring option on a championship contender with great defensive players.

He's not a guy who will elevate a mediocre team into a contender by himself.

Booker was less than four months removed from being 21 years old when this thread was made.

Sheesh, people. I tried to tell you so many times. He's the real deal.

this was a dumb narrative from day 1 and if you bought it you should be embarrassed. people should just stop trying to use the term "empty stats", they aren't smart enough to see situations it actually applies to.
