Actually Flip Saunders passed away. His son is the one who just got fired.

Sorry, you're right Ryan Saunders.

Finch is the guy Rosas wanted to hire all along. They had been talking about this behind the scenes and Saunders should have realized the writing was on the wall a long time ago. Glen Taylor wanted to keep Saunders, but Rosas eventually convinced him that they've seen all they need to see and if they wait any longer, they'd face more competition for Finch.
If there's one thing Finch is good at, it's designing an offensive system through a star big man - KAT. The roster Rosas has assembled is a rather awkward fit for the Rockets-like system he wants to run, but Finch, unlike Ryan, at least seems like he has a plan. This change might get them a few more wins this year. It also, in my opinion, makes it all the more critical to get the pick this year. If not, it means the Wolves get one of Cade, Mobley, or Kuminga, and that alone might push their 2022 pick into the back lottery range instead of 4-7.

That is, wouldn't it be in the Warriors best interest that the Wolves finish like 4th worth record than one of the bottom 3 record?

Per nba, The 3 worse records each have a 14% chance of winning. The percentage go down after that as the 4th worst record gets a 12.5% chance.
Last year we had the worst record with another of the 14% jumping us and a team outside the top 3 getting in. The worst record can get no lower than the 5th pick. I find it highly unlikely that all four picks are left in sequences thus I would prefer the Wolves to have the 2nd or 3rd worst record as they share 1/3 chances of getting one with multiple jumps unlikely

Great dunk! In the clip, he was the only one fascinated and amused with all the smiling. His teammates did not share his enthusiasm much.

Very awkward.

Yeah, Flip died 2 days before the 15-16 season tipped off and it has severely hampered the franchise. We hired Thibs who made a bunch of win-now moves when the roster wasn't ready (it'd be nice to have Zach Lavine back!) and now Towns is 25 and we're living in the shadow of win-now moves that were made when he was 21 years old.

I was hoping for 4th or 5th, but they seem like a lock for the bottom 3 now. Detroit is actually a decent team when Blake doesn't play and he'll probably get bought out soon. Cleveland is probably the only team that can end up worse, maybe Houston if they completely blow it up.

Just have to hope the NBA fixes the lottery for the Warriors after they determine that a top 5 pick would be better off with GSW than with Minnesota.

Warriors will generate huge revenues, still get a lot of national TV games. That is the best way to build up a potential superstar than putting him in Minnesota.

Geez...Towns may tap out soon with no real help. They really need to start praying to the lottery gods.

Here are the odds the Warriors get the pick based on where the Wolves end the season (worst = 1; best = 7).Warriors have the same odds of getting the pick if the Wolves finish 1-3, but are more likely to get 4 the worse the Wolves are. The odds of keeping the pick don't change that much unless the Wolves improve to about the 6-7th worse team. So I am rooting for them to be as bad as possible and hoping for some luck.

Seed Top 3 4-6 7-10 Warriors get the Pick
1 40.1% 59.9% 0.0% 59.9%
2 40.1% 59.8% 0.0% 59.8%
3 40.1% 52.8% 7.0% 59.8%
4 36.6% 44.4% 19.0% 63.4%
5 31.6% 32.3% 36.0% 68.3%
6 27.6% 18.2% 54.2% 72.4%
7 21.4% 7.9% 70.5% 78.4%

I want them dead last, 60% chance sounds good to me with no chance of picking lower than #5. Worst case we get their unprotected FRP next year, which is probably still pretty good. Still would trade that pick right now or even if it comes in at #4 for Haliburton though.

So my prediction of a 8-28 record for the Wolves is in danger because the Wolves not only suck, but they're also very unlucky. But at least now we can stop worrying about if they should be really bad, or if they can be not too bad to guarantee we get the pick. They're going to be really bad. So it's all about getting lucky in the lottery.

They assumed the curse of Joe Smith when they illegally signed him, which lifted the curses on the Warriors and Pistons simultaneously as they were then re-assigned to be a triple curse on Minnesota
