Ball, Rozier, and Monk would get the bulk of the minutes at guard. Cook can give you some good minutes when needed and is a career 40% shooter behind the arc.

Graham is hurt so his value is probably pretty low. Would rather let him get healthy and see how he fits in

We have an open roster spot, we can bring Quinn in now as insurance to Graham being out. Hopefully Graham could get back soon, play well, and we could find a deal.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
I'm definitely on board with picking Quinn Cook up. Has very good experience, still just 27, and a very solid shooter. Probably a better facilitator than Rozier and Monk as well. Would be great for depth.

What about Whiteside? Can we get him for Biz and a 2nd?

A trade for Lauri or Wendell Carter is starting to really peak my interest right now

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
i got depressed reading about Moses Brown the other day, he really seems to be tearing up the g league and is a lucky find for OKC.
hopefully one of our G league guys can show similar. Otherwise, i really want a young centre.
Jarret Allen was probably on the list at one stage, but I cant see Cleveland letting him go.

I definitely wanted Jarrett Allen badly...would've been such a great fit. No way the Cavs let him go esp with them shopping Drummond now.
Yeah Moses Brown seems to be crushing the G League...but I really think Nick Richards has a chance to be a decent piece for us. Sure, only 3 G League games, but his stats have been shockingly good. He's a 7 footer...7'4 wingspan...245lb...and has a nice looking shot. A lot of us on here said he looked terrible in the (very) limited minutes he got in the NBA, but were any of them in non-garbage time? And I personally didn't see any plays that made me think, wow this guy's hopeless. Maybe I missed something...but I'm excited to see what he can do. Also I think he's gonna be given a chance before big Vern, as he better fits what we need right now at the 5 spot.

it might have just been the speed of the NBA that took Richards surprise, hopefully he just needs time to adjust.
i would still like a genuine starter though. Need one at the 4 or 5 to be a proper presence inside.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
Oh for sure. We do have the extra roster spot...I don't see why that wouldn't be used in some way by the trade deadline.
Gonna be hard to find our big man for the future mid season, but it should definitely be prioritized over potential signings in the ballpark of a Quinn Cook or a Glenn Robinson III type player, even though either one of those players would be solid additions for depth IMO.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
At this point, I wonder if keeping the roster spot open might be more valuable than a depth piece.
The Hornets are, of course, in the thick of the playoff (or play-in) chase, so making a move makes sense. Perhaps wiser to find a decent 3 behind Gordon than signing a big. Send McDaniels back to the G. Borrego should keep his rotation tight, so it's probably not a big deal anyway.
But having an open spot and cap space puts the Hornets in a good spot to get a draft asset, either in a straight-up swap (unlikely) or as part of a three-way (more likely).

Opinions on Lonzo Ball joining Melo in Charlotte?
I have been down on Lonzo since he entered the league, but he is still only 23 years old and has really started turning the corner. He is shooting near 40% from behind the arc on 7.5 attempts per game this year, and has tremendously improved his free throw shooting. He can run an offense, and has learned to play off the ball with Zion facilitating a lot lately. That is big as he would play off the ball with Melo facilitating, but could run the offense if Melo was not in the game.

I think we have to stick with Terry starting at the moment, he's just been fantastic at the 2. I wouldn't hate Lonzo off the bench, but I can imagine Lavar would become insufferable with his rants about who should be starting.

Re: Fake Trade Thread #3
so if wiretap is correct the only teams selling players are Rockets, Cavaliers, Thunder.
The only bigs I can see any real interest in is Drummond, who sort of scares me with previous teams fans saying his iq is low. I'm worried when he gets the ball at the top of the key, he will try to score to much. Don't want another Dwight calling his own number.
To trade for Drummond it would have to be Zeller, Biz and either Monk or Washington. Washington is under a controlled contract for a while, so less risk while Monk is about to cost $$. Also who knows what the Cavs want.
McGee doesn't excite me much, a taller Biz with better hands. Not sure how easy he would be to get.
Rockets and Thunder don't have anything exciting that I can see being offered.
So i really don't expect much from us in the trade department.

The wiretap isn't correct. The Pelicans have been trying to trade Bledsoe, Reddick, etc. for a while and the Hawks have been trying to trade Collins. The Mavericks are also looking to shake things up. And with the way the Kings and Celtics have been playing lately I'm confident both of them are too. I think this trade deadline will be active.

I love what Terry is doing for us, but we aren't contender status yet and if Terry keeps this up, he will get expensive next offseason.
Would you trade Terry for Lonzo and Jaxson Hayes? Lonzo is having a breakout year now like Terry did last year in the same pattern of moving from PG to shooting/combo guard. Lonzo could be a better version of Terry soon, and instead of paying Terry top money, we could pay Lonzo Terry type money for 4/5 years.

I don't see Lonzo being a viable starting 2 next to Melo. They need a dynamic scorer/shooter, not a poor man's Melo

Has Bagley III improved at all this year? Can he play C or is he a PF?

I have no doubt that Bagley can be really really good on the offensive end. Its his defense that worries me
