And I wanna mention Seth Rollins and say this "Messiah" gimmick has been a total fail and he's not pulling it off at all.
I thought it had good potential at the beginning with AOP and Murphy but it just went up in flames.

Also he's not good on the mic at all and it's not so much the verbiage I think it's his raspy voice and he goes on way to
long. Also the ponytail bun and jacket I know he's trying to get heat with it and look like a guy you want to see get his
ass kicked but it just looks "Wrestling stupid" like change the channel heat.

I was so high on Rollins when he first debuted in WWE the first 2 years and for the most part accolades wise he's lived up
to the hype with what he's accomplished. But after his last failed baby face run flop and now this he doesn't feel special
anymore he's also become stale and boring and another guy in this era that's a good worker but can't connect as a character
and just feels like a dime a dozen guy who can have solid matches but not much else.

Al Perez really invented Rollins' look - with more muscle mass. He was a big star in World Class in the Von Erich era and was expected to star in the WWF but pretty much was a big flop there. Then he got the gig as Black Scorpion in WCW to haunt Sting but supposedly quit when they booked him to lose.

Wow looks exactly like him in that pic... I also think he looks like Bruiser Brody at times. I remember when I was
younger I never understood why so many wrestlers had long hair like a woman. Even to this day I barely ever see
men with long hair in real life outside of the rocker type guy that I still barely ever see.

I think back in the day the long hair helped you hide calling spots? Then again not everyone had it so maybe it was just hip.

Wrestlers aren't really setting trends in terms of looks, I suppose Stone Cold is an exception, but look how long the mullet held on in wrestling compared to the rest of society.

I also find it astonishing that Vince has his two top guys looking the exact same (Reigns and Drew, add Seth too). I guess long dark hair and beard is the new bleach blonde of wrestling.

I heard another rumor or something back in the day is having long hair helped you make selling better or something like
that. But yeah I don't get the jacked up guy with long hair like a woman look other then didn't back in the day on the cover
of Romance novels they always had a jacked up dude with long hair on the cover as some sort of alpha male dream guy type?

As for Mullets I think Wrestling back in the day appealed to a lot of hicks and rocker types especially WCW, Mid South, WCCW
etc. Vince tried to clean it up and attract normal people and regular families to the business instead of all the hicks and skids
that people thought wrestling fans were.

That was the style back in the day. Mullets were all the way live. When you watch back those early 90s wwf shows, everyone had mullets down to the refs/timekeeper/camera operators etc.

What great match has Otis ever been in? What great promo has Otis ever delivered? If Gable is getting a bigger push along with Otis I can't complain, but if Otis is getting a big push as a heel while Gable continues losing matches I can't say I'm thrilled about this personally.

Feel like Otis is fun to watch.
Its actually Gable that I have a hard time watching.

Neither of them can really be marketed, though.

Otis was yet another victim of Vince's obsession with splitting up tag teams that have one guy that he feels he can market. Otis got himself over, Vince saw dollar signs, and instead of allowing both Otis and Tucker (that was his partner's name, right?) to get over as a team and establish themselves, he foolishly pushed Otis in a short term gambit that predictably backfired because Otis is nowhere near ready to be a singles star. He was one of the guys in NXT who was actually developmental, and for whatever reason Vince loves to elevate those guys over the guys who are already established stars. Probably because they're bigger and he's into that.

But we see it happen time and time again. Corbin had no business being called up when he did. Nia doesn't belong in the business at all, let alone on Raw or Smackdown, and she certainly shouldn't have been called up over women who are actually good at wrestling. Braun is another example. Lacey Evans. Apollo Crews. Elias. You get the idea.

Ratings don't appear to benefit from PPV's the way Raw's do. On the road to Wrestlemania they should be higher. Anyone who thinks quality of the show will help ratings, it's once again not the case.

Honestly, Raw being so bad during an average week might actually hurt Smackdown. Imagine you watch a great PPV, then flip to Raw the following night and it's just another trashy WWE show. Would that dampen your enthusiasm to tune in to the next show on a Friday night? When you could be doing literally anything else?

Since Corbin has basically run out of opponents, when does he get time off? As a team the Mysterios don't have many opponents left, and Bayley too.

On the other hand, Carmella rarely wrestles. Ziggler and Roode could wrestle more often. Rollins should be wrestling now, and I'd argue Roman could wrestle more often. Unless there's injuries that I don't know about since I don't follow behind the scenes news.

I enjoy the show, but it could be balanced much better.

I've been sporting the long hair for pretty much all of my adult life, don't knock it till you try it! But I understand it's not for everyone. I like rock/metal and I grew up wanting to be a professional wrestler. Only fitting to have the hair as a tribute to that. Lol

The long hair thing was an observation as a kid/teenager I'm long used to it by now. I know a lot of white wrestlers were
big Metal heads so that explained some of it but also there's been quite a few Japanese, Mexican and Samoan wrestlers
with long hair as well. I remember reading online people questioning why wrestlers with long hair always wet their hair
before a match when they come out. I remember in WCW when Kevin Nash didn't wear his ponytail and just let it flow
it used to get in his face constantly every move he did he would move the hair out of his face immediately I don't know
how it didn't drive him nuts.

Did you ever go for any training or was it just something you wanted to do but never pursued?

Never actually persued it. I'm 5'11, unathletic, and have no charisma. Not a good recipe for a wrestler. Lol. But like in HS, Me and my buddies had a camcorder and recorded our matches in the yard or basement. And did the post match interview thing. That was a great time!

And as far as the metal goes, I like it but I'm more of a casual when it comes to music in general. The hair thing definitely more to do with wrestling as opposed to music.

I remember me and a friend briefly flirted with the idea about possibly getting into it but at the time a wave of wrestlers
started dying young and I had no interest in taking steroids or HGH and also working that grueling schedule and being
away from your family so much.

SmackDown was good tonight, man those 2 beautiful woman Sasha Banks & Bianca Belair carried the show & should be the one of the main events at WrestleMania. Their chemistry is so good together.

Return to Pro Wrestling
