One more win in SAS and we'll have a perfect road trip, seems all we need is a little effort. After a rough start, we're climbing the playoff ladder in the West.

LAL just lost to DET tonight (thank you Blake Griffin ) so jn the Western Conference, looks like we're only 2 games back of the 2020 Champs, 2,5 games back of LAC (who we beat last year in 2020 playoffs) and 3 games back of the upstart Jazz (who again we beat in the 2020 playoffs). We're not in a terrible place that NEEDS a trade, feels like we're just getting tuned up.

Denver 11-7 .611 6.5 Won 5 8-2

Milwaukee 11-6 .647 7.0 Won 2 7-3

Philadelphia 13-6 .684 8.0 Won 1 6-4

LA Lakers 14-6 .700 8.5 Lost 2 7-3

LA Clipper 14-5 .737 9.0 Won 1 8-2

Utah 14-4 .778 9.5 Won 10 10-0

IF the Nuggets hustle on both ends of the court, for four quarters - there is ZERO DOUBT in my mind that they can win every single game!

IF the Nuggets have all this vaunted depth I keep hearing about (especially the guards), then there is no reason they can claim they are too tired to hustle - IF Malone sees a guard not hustling, he should yank them.

I know this will sound like a big paradox but in reality, the better you look MORE you need improvement!

If you close to contender status or are a contender already, every small improvement is huge, and every weakness can be fatal in the conference semifinal, final, or big final!

Barton playing his best season in 2020 was technically our 3rd best player by raw numbers (having the team's highest playing time), but when he was injured before the bubble, the team becomes even better once Harris was back from injury, and despite we lost Beasley too! Why? Because three clearly better players than Barton (Murray, Grant, Porter) get the much bigger role and minutes once Barton was out, which blinded Malone never done without Barton injury. So why not trade him now when he is playing worse than last season and Malone stealing minutes and a bigger role from three better players than Barton is (Murray, Porter, Green)?

I complain here loudly back in time when it was obvious that the Hornets will waive Batum and Nuggets are probably the only contenders which not showed some interest!? Our offseason was a disaster with losing Grant and not get Jrue Holiday, suddenly a cheap 3&D very good forward-defender was available, exactly what we needed after losing Grant... but our FO not even try. I guess because they are happy if the team reaches 2nd round playoff 3rd season in the row.

It's still pretty early in the season, let's wait and see after 50 or so games how's everybody holding. If Barton fully recovers/regains his athleticism, he's going to be nothing to sneeze at. Green doesn't need heavy minutes and MPJ will be getting more anyway if he keeps playing like this.

LeBron whining about the ASG again, dude just needs to STFU he makes a fool out of himself. If he doesn’t want to play in it, just withdraw, easy solution. But NOOOOO, he has to draw some attention to his brand to try and show relevance. I will be so happy when he retires, he’s a moronic EGOMANIAC

LeBron James Considered Early Favorite For MVP In Straw Poll
FEB 10, 2021 1:55 PM

A straw poll conducted by ESPN asked 100 media members to vote for the MVP at this point in the season with LeBron James receiving 54 of a possible 100 first place votes and 760 total points. Joel Embiid received the second most first place votes with 23 and 665 total points, while Nikola Jokic received 18 first place votes and 596 total points.

Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard rounded out the top-5, though there is a large delta between their points and the top-3.

James hasn't won MVP since 2013, but he finished second in 2014, third in 2015, third in 2016, fourth in 2017, second in 2018 and second in 2020.

4th maybe a stretch, if either are the 4th best on the team in 18 months than I think we would all be thrilled, but they both have a long way to go to beat out Harris just on the defensive end.

That being said I can easily see them being the 5th and 6th best players on the roster in that time. Listening to the post game interview with Millsap the other night made me even higher on both of these guys.

For those that missed it he said that both Hampton and Nnaji are very humble and hardworking guys that are always asking questions and working very hard on their games. Now some of that may be blowing smoke, but Millsap never said that about guys like Bol or Tyler Lydon.

Chris Finch, the guy who got the ball rolling with our Jokic-centric offense, is now the Wolves coach
Helped fix the AD Pelicans offense despite Alvin Gentry as well.

Wolves are near dead-last in the league on offense right now despite their offensive oriented roster - very interesting to see what happens and extremely disappointed he still isn't with us.

I have always thought it was strange the way that Finch was brought in and a year later was gone, and considering it was rumored to be big money for an assistant I don't think it was the money. I think we all noticed that each of the next 2 years that we started off trying to run a totally different offense only going back to the Jokic offense when it was too late to make the playoffs.

I thought if it was a problem between the coaches than Malone should have been the one fired, and I guess we will see what Finch is capable of in Minny so I hope I was wrong.

All-star reserves are named with a couple of controversial decisions.

Jamal Murray started to play on an all-star level this month, but unfortunately too late to join the 2021 selection. Remind me of Jokic 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons when he played like a true all-star, but both times have a late *true* start of the season in the middle of December.

Perhaps Jamal will get an opportunity when AD bows out.....but I can't disagree with current selections

I think Devin Booker deserves that spot more than Paul George.

Paul George deserves even TOP10 on the West this season, not just TOP12. Booker should replace teammate Chris Paul or Zion Williamson, but both have bigger starpower.

And Fox is also deserving for how he's made SAC respectable but I agree Booker should be on the AS team
