I too wonder why we don't just use Poole. Maybe they know Wanamaker is a short-termer and want to boil some of the inconsistency out of Poole while they still can without it happening in actual NBA games.

Poole is a terrible distributor. He might get hot and score in bunches but he wouldn't make anybody else on the 2nd unit better. Reasonable to replace Wanamaker but doesn't really solve the bigger issue.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

I'd say a solid majority of 2nd unit PGs are not really good distributors.. I dont think it matters much who brings the ball up to pass it to Wiggins or EP to start the offense up. Poole at least has a microwave factor that Wanamaker doesnt have. And when he gets hot, just like Oubre, just like Wiggins, the passing lanes open wider and they look better at finding teammates

We just dont have the middling assets/desire to scan the market for a top backup PG so gotta play with the hand we're dealt. Guard options for the 2nd unit are Mulder, Wanamaker, Mannion, Lin, and Poole.. I think Poole has the most upside of that group, so may as well find out. Wanamaker is 31 and has almost no chance of being here next year. I'd cut him to give Barbaro his spot back

I will never believe Kerr will bench Wanamaker. And doubtful he will be cut either.

Having Poole back on the bench means nothing to Kerr.

We will just have to deal with Wanamaker gets his minutes.

I am really happy that Oubre is playing well and hope he continues to. With that said, I'm still on the trade Oubre train. Come at me.

G-League bubble is a big test for Jordan Poole. Not sure how well that has been panning out!

If I gotta be honest, I think Bob is going to ride with Oubre this season and not re-sign him in the summer. When I think of Bob Myers, I expect the least when it comes to aggressive or creative moves. That's not me just wanting to **** on the guy. His history basically affirms it. So while I still think we should trade Oubre for a contract we can move in the summer or at least have the option to, I'm seeing it happening less and less. Oubre is playing really well and it'll be hard for the FO to justify trading him for a lesser but more controllable contract. Sucks.

wait, you don't think he's made "aggressive moves?" Without even getting into KD, sure it may not have brought the ultimate success but the internet/NBA lost its friggen mind when we landed Boogie

How are those aggressive/creative moves?

KD: "Hey, Bob, I want to come to the Warriors."
BOB: "Sure."

BOOGIE: "Hey, Bob, I want to come to the Warriors for the MLE."
BOB: "Okay."

Voila.

He makes moves we would all do or can see coming. He never makes a move where we're just blown away by how out of the box he's thinking. It's not necessarily a bad thing. Just saying I don't expect anything more than that.

I mean , I guess if that's how you think those moves literally went down, well yeah , I don't have anything to add.

I've actual defended Bob Myers from some people here. My post was really just about expecting the least when it comes to creativity from the FO. I think Bob Myers passiveness reduces the big mistakes other FOs do. But it also tempers expectations in terms of what we can expect this year and in the summer.

So you want to trade Oubre for a lesser player because we could trade that player for an equally lesser player in the summer? I'm having trouble following the logic. Who are these mystery players, anyway?

Whether to trade KO or not all have serious money consequences.

So Myers wouldn't be doing anything without blessing from Lacob.

i'd approach the Nets and try to do a Oubre-Dinwiddie swap at the deadline, yea Spencer's out this year and on an expiring but we keep his rights and he's a really good fit with Steph/Klay as a 3rd guard heading into next year if we can resign him.

So many offers have been put forward and explained.. at this point not understanding it is willful. You trade for a 2 year contract so we have salary ballast in the offseason for a bigger deal instead of having to pay draft capital for another team to take on Wiggins' contract. Who the 2 year contract is... pretty irrelevant, but so far: Rubio, Barton, AFA/MCW, Tristan Thompson, Satoransky, Prince, Winslow, Iguodala, Hood, CoJo.. take your pick. It doesnt really matter who it is.

The career 41% fgp and 32% 3pt % doesn’t bother you? I like the idea but I’d rather have Lonzo Ball. Wonder what kind of contract he will get next year.

i mean, if we can get Lonzo for Oubre sure go for it but I doubt that's the case. I'd rather have Zo too.

We talking about the same Poole? He’s been playing the wing in the G-League but his biggest plus skill at this point is his passing.

Man I would LOVE or him to blossom into a point guard for us....

But two of those three passes are likely turnovers in the NBA. The second and third are massive wideup passes...they get picked :(

Anyway....bring the guy up...FEATURE him as the first point guard off the bench and let's see what the hell he can do. Wannamaker is a vet....but his impact on the game is pretty dang wanting...
