Nets are 9-5 without their GOAT.

Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

Mitchell over Gobert is absurd. Gobert is the anchor of the Jazz defense and the offense is based off of Gobert setting screens and the threat of him rolling to the rim. Losing Gobert would hurt the Jazz a lot worse than losing Mitchell.
Gobert’s on/off numbers per 100 possessions with the Jazz is +13.9. Mitchell is -1.1. So the Jazz actually out score their opponents by more points when Mitchell doesn’t play.
Gobert is the MVP of the Jazz.

He is, and I think even most Jazz fans would agree that they are simply a well oiled machine with no true "MVP" level player. A "best player, best team" narrative certainly does not apply to them in an MVP context. I would have Gobert top 10 (possibly top... 7-8?), Mitchell maybe top 15 (I would have Conley around the same if he did not miss those games), but none of them are going to get MVP consideration, and if any of them will be thought of on the final top-5 ballot it should and will be Rudy.

Re: NBA MVP Discussion 20/21
Embiid with his 3rd straight subpar game. Shooting 30%, 23% and tonight 5-20 (20%). That’s pretty bad. Especially Dallas is not a good defensive team. The double teams coming quicker even from 20 feet out affecting his shot. He’s driven a few times just to get to the free throw line. But that’s the blueprint how to slow him down.
Of course sixers won 2 out of those 3 games. So it’s a huge gamble to commit to try to take the ball away from Embiid. And force him to take more outside shots and even the shorter range ones where he’s driving and hoping for the the foul. And he’s not making them and doesn’t gettin the call.
He hasn’t looked good.

Don't look now, but Giannis might end up with everything an MVP needs on his resume other than... uh... a lack of voter fatigue... or whatever other excuses people want to give for why he "can't win."
He's coming on strong for the last three or four weeks, and it's adding up.

What is the Sixers record with and without him, and his numbers are 100 percent mvp numbers still

He was shooting a gazillion percentage from midrange specially 16+ ft and shooting 3s like a Splash bro. Regression is gonna hit him hard

They’ve won 8 straight, has he played in any of those? I dont think.
After initial growing pains the team looks insane and they still have kd to add.

That’s not even crazy. Stephs above him so that could be 8th.
Not saying that’s my ranking but all those guys have a case over kawhi.

Re: NBA MVP Discussion 20/21
If we are gonna be honest with ourselves, then Jokic is doing the most heavy lifting out of anyone in the league, which would by definition translate into him being the most valuable player in the regular season.
Embiid has been awesome but Simmons has played like a borderline superstar this year and Harris is putting up 20 ppg on great efficiency. Ultimately Embiid has a better cast, imo, especially defensively with Simmons, Thybulle, Green and Dwight off the bench... I'm surprised the Sixers aren't top 3 at least in defense.
Kawhi has been very good as well, but also has a better team than Jokic. PG is playing significantly better than Murray on both ends, it's not even close, and then you have Ibaka, Batum and Zubac all very good in thei role.
Harden is another strong candidate, but again, Kyrie is a significantly better version of Murray, and Joe Harris is probably better than MPJ too... And that's before even mentioning Durant, who is out now, but has had a profound impact on Brooklyns record this year regardless...
Giannis is Top 5, but again, has a much better team than Jokic...
There really is no one with a worse team in the league doing more than Jokic... The Nuggets SRS is actually better than the Sixers too, lol...

I’m just gonna leave this here.
I get voter fatigue. But with no clear-cut favorite, if Giannis keeps this up and Milwaukee finishes top-3 in the East, he might steal a 3rd.

The east is dumpster fire garbage. You shouldn't even be up for contention unless you're first or carrying an incredible load. No chance for Giannis unless the Bucks climb to the top.

He's at 29/12/6 for the season at 56% so the month split is a bit weird to mention.
