LaMelo had some great buckets in crunch time against one of the west's top teams in a win
Future is bright for that kid

Quick with 25 points in 20 minutes in a win against the kings
Halliburton vs IQ was a nice battle tonight

Kinda sucks there's no Rising Stars game in the All Stars, when there's some exciting rooks this season. But it's understandable, it's not a priority in this pandemic era.

It was a battle that Quickley clearly won. If he didn't play for a coach that held him back, he'd be leading the rookie of the year race.

Can we lock this thread now that we know Lamelo is so much better than everyone else?
Empathy doesn’t mean softening the truth — it means holding truth with humanity.

Nah, haliburton is better. It will be game over once walton is fired and/or hield is traded.

umm, Hali says hello, who leads the class in BPM, VORP and Win Shares, and shooting much better than LaMelo on top of it.

I love IQ and am happy for Knicks fans that have a guy like that they can rally behind but let's not get ahead of ourselves. He doesn't offer much outside scoring and he is only shooting 39% this year. Still got a bright future.

He still has a TS% of 56% which is better than Lamelo, Edward’s, etc. He’s also average as a defender and passer and is still young enough to improve.
If he learns to finish at the rim better the sky is the limit.

This feels like the debate a few years back when people tried to argue Dario Saric deserved the ROY over Karl-Anthony Towns because of his efficiency numbers. (EDIT: Haha I'm way off, it was Wiggins and Mirotic I was talking about)

Re: Rookie of The Year Thread
It's coming....
With Beasley suspended until after the trade deadline and Russell probably out just as long, this is Edwards' time to shine on the perimeter.

It's not the best player in 5 years award. It's the rookie of thee year award, so efficiency for a rookie season does matter.
Saric and Towns weren't in the same rookie class anyway, so I wonder which debate you're referring to. Saric was wildly inefficient as a rookie anyway.
