I miss Jimmy such a gun. He just gives you more than Derozan for me. No hate there. Jimmy has an insanely high free throw rate (Derozan is very very good but not at Jimmy’s level). Btw Derozan is not more of an efficiency scorer. Higher volume of shots.
Jimmy has an off ball cutting game too.
Jimmy actually plays the Ben role in the half court setting better than Ben could.

Jimmy is good but he’s overrated to be an alpha like on this heat team or the bulls squad. He’s perfect playing with Embiid, better than Ben-Biid pairing.
Wished we had Doc and Morey sooner. I think we then wouldn’t have made the Tobi trade. We probably would have used those assets and package Ben or a re-signed Jimmy, for a much bigger player like Harden? You’d then form a big 3.
What lesson can you learn from this? Do not give up assets for mediocre players like Kyle Lowry. Hahaha

If you have a top 5 pick, you then just have to attach multiple picks with that and fillers for a guy like Lavine.

I don’t think Jimmy is overrated at all. Firmly a top 15 player in the comp in my eyes. But yes not resigning over favoring two lesser players is very counterintuitive. Even without another Big signing you have plenty of assets for trades etc leftover and a really nice core in Butler/Embiid/Simmons.
I just think our moves haven’t been all that good overall for the past 4 years, besides the Jimmy deal. It was a big trade can had the potential to win
But that’s history now
We are very short movement wise so asset/cap management should be a priority here.

How about this guy? He’s having his Tobi-lite season with like 50-40-90 on 16ppg.
I’d take him and a pick swap from the Kings, for expirings, 2nd rounder and Milton.

Just to talk about something: three trades proposed on https://raptorsrapture.com/2021/02/26/raptors-3-kyle-lowry-trades-heat-clippers-76ers/:

Some takes:
1. the Heat package is way below the other twos
2. Can't see us to give 2 starters and the second best perimeter defender for Lowry.
Give them a 2021 first and a future swap instead of Tisse ans Seth.

In the end I think Lowry wants to re-sign with Toronto this summer but Masai isn't offering the right money so Lowry's camp is using the Heat, the Clips and the Sixers as leverage.
Ths Sixers would be a reliable bluff.
We'll see.

Toronto started the season with a horrible streak, but I am quite confident that they will end up with a top 4 seed. When did a team in the top 4 trade away their best player for marginal assets? I don't think they're sellers right now, certainly not for a late 1st rounder and decent prospect.

Ive probably made trades here for everyone except for Embiid.
Ive even made a list of possible trades for Tobias in the trade board.
Its not like Im just trading Shake just to dispose him. The trade makes us a good of a team right now and potentially a lot better team in the future. So I dont know where I made my mistake.

Digging a bit deeper, what team (who has some interesting pieces) is willing to sell? Houston, Magic and Pelicans?
Oladipo has been absolutely horrible this year on the offensive end, so the price is quite low. However, he's playable on defense, he can dribble the ball and he's certainly not afraid to shoot the ball (11 3PA per 100p).
If the shot starts falling at a career average rate he could bring value to our non-starting line up. Tucker and Oladipo for 1st round pick, Green and Bradley (and maybe a 2nd)?

Yeah, this is a good point. Maybe it's a negotiation tactic from his camp. Didnt he do something similar (said he wanted to play for Philly) when looking for a max deal last time he was a free agent?Kolkmania wrote:Toronto started the season with a horrible streak, but I am quite confident that they will end up with a top 4 seed. Edit: Found the article from 2017 stating Lowry wants to play for Philly and Philly is prepared to offer him a lucrative deal. The source? Pompey

It’s not that it’s fair or unfair, it just seems pretty unrealistic. I don’t think the Sixers in the middle of the season are going to trade Shake if they don’t get a point guard back or value a future asset to maybe make another trade down the road and I don’t think these lottery teams are going to do a pick swap for an unprotected pick a few months from now for Shake Milton.

That's an insult to Harris!
Barnes is being assisted on a whopping 58% of his field goals inside the arc. Virtually zero shotcreation. Harris is only assisted on 39% of his field goals inside the arc. Barnes is just an expensive Mike Scott upgrade. Tall spacer with no defense or shotcreation.
76iology, you're pretty down on Milton, huh. Shake's jumper disappeared but he's still our second best creator behind Maxey. Why lose him and 2nd rounders for some low impact role player like Barnes? I know Morey wants a frontcourt spacer to play PF minutes, but I'm not willing to lose creators plus picks for that.

I think you guys get me wrong.
Milton is a good player and im valuing him as a 13-15ppg 50-40-90 guy. This is why I’m getting a lottery back in return (see my other trade with the Magic and this kings trade).
My idea is to trade shake for someone who can provide us the same impact of what Shake can provide (Ross or Barnes) and a lottery pick in exchange by providing the other team cap relief (expiring contracts) and a young 50-40-90 player in Shake.
My thinking is.. there’s gap with what we need and our current assets. We need a guy like Beal, Lavine or someone better. We’re not going to get one by our current assets. So I’m finding ways to leverage our assets by maximizing our expiring and Milton’s value.
Milton is a good player but we need so much more than what Milton can provide.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Sorry, maybe its my misunderstanding.
I was referring to youngcrev’s reply to why i keep wanting to trade Shake.
Simply, I want to trade shake so we can leverage our assets with our expiring and time so we can get a really good player without having to trade Ben and even possibly Tobi.
It’s not just a pick swap with our low end first and another team’s lottery, but Im getting either Barnes or Ross. Both guys can be the scorer we need off the bench.
If we need a point guard, then we can probably sign another PG. Or even trade Barnes or Ross and a couple of second rounders for Lowry. Maybe even add Maxey.
Kings:
Shake Milton
Expiring contract
2021 Sixers pick
- young player and cap relief
Raptors:
Harrison Barnes
Tyrese Maxey
2nd Round Pick
- player who can contribute now and a player who can contribute later
Sixers:
Lowry
2021 Kings Pick
- lowry being a big upgrade over milton and maxey then also adding a likely lottery pick via pick swap
That way you can get Lowry and a lottery pick with just Milton, expiring contracts and 2nd rounders.
You’d then become a much better team right now (Milton+Maxey for Lowry) then a much better team in the future (lottery).
But yeah, these are all just fantasy trades and im just throwing out ideas. Im not saying these are easy trades to pull off.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
