Judging only on stats, Seth was given the Tobias reins and went 1-13. Yikes.

Once again, the stars aren't the problem. Ben and Joel put up pretty efficient stats (aside from those 7 TOs).

Very bad loss that might put us in 2nd place.

Really, all I want to do is avoid Boston or Miami in the first round.

I really want someone to ask Doc why did he keep Seth in the game.

Embiid will get doubled in the playoffs the sixers need a shotcreator.

only so long fake thugs can pretend

....err by that I mean we have over achieved off the backs of unsustainable shooting from dudes. The bench being such an anchor has become something that we can no longer overcome as well. And yet any short term move at the expense of long term assets to fix it asap feels like a poor choice yknow? Lowry would help...but dude is old as **** and small so not really (especially since Doc would still start Seth....) and would tank our already terrible depth even more. Don't think Masai just gives him to us. BUT that is also the only "legit" move that moves the needle...but how much tho...but this team sucks to watch right now. ..buuut.

it all sucks lol. First World Problems lol.

If the Nets never landed Harden, mayyyyyybe we make a terrible Colangelo-like trade for Lowry. They'd steamroll us even if we got Lowry, though. So might as well just keep Maxey and our 1st rounder and try to actually develop our own creators to be playoff viable in 2022-2023.

You haven't been watching if you think games like this aren't predictive of what will happen in the playoffs.

So let’s give up and blow the team up now? What are teams in the rest of the conference other than the Nets gonna do? Omg let’s cancel the latter half of the season and give the chip to either the Jazz or Nets and call it a season?

Keeping Ben and Jo is not blowing it up. Tonight just reiterates the point that this team is not going to win a championship. They won't even win the East. A team headlined by Jo/Ben/Tobi with no perimeter creators and in the luxury tax is not good enough and not sustainable.

While I'm not ready to just give up for a couple of years, Lowery isn't the answer.

We may need to trade Greens salary for something and slide Matisse into his spot.

Danny Green absolutely has to go. We also need to trade Maxey. The biggest issue is that even if we get a scorer, everyone else still sucks. It really was the worst possible way to build a team. I have no idea how Morey fixes this slop.

I think it's a noticeable downgrade.

Aside from not being able to replace the championship pedigree and immense experience, Matisse quite simply cannot replace Danny's size/strength to defend Fs and he can't replicate Danny's spacing on the offensive end.

So we get even further away from being able to score in the playoffs?

We are in the position we are right now because we've ignored shotcreation in virtually every draft of the last half decade. We finally got one, now we have to develop him. Trading him seems preposterous and backwards to our goals.

Ben can guard the bigger better wing. I agree the spacing would be more of an issue though how much is not easily seen.

He is useless to us for the next 3 years. He will not get enough playing time to actually develop on this team. The best use for him is to trade him for his potential and help us get someone to win now. Jo might not be this good next year, we need to win now. By the time Maxey is ready, Jo might be completely broken with injures (I hope not, but it's always going to be in the back of your mind).

I agree. So if he's such a shot creator, then he needs to actually you know... score or create shots. Don't give me that BS about Doc not giving him a long enough leash. Dude's floaters are horrible right now, and he's running around like a chicken with his head cut off (a rookie). We need shot creators who can contribute now. Developing them was something we should have done for the last 7 years, I agree, but we haven't, but it's time to start now. We're in Championship or bust mode (quoted from Morey). Maxey absolutely does not fit into that timeline.

Why do you think Maxey's jumper is so far away? Some guys in recent years with his jumpshot profile show signs in year 2 and are outright spacers by year 3.

That's the problem, there's no way to speed up the process. We should have nailed the picks in 2017 and 2018 if we wanted to be great now. We can't change the timeline, we just have to wait on Maxey and whatever creators we add after him.

Maybe get lucky and catch a team slipping. Like using Thybulle to get Walker from New Orleans.
