Willing to trade all 3 picks this year for Bouknight. If that’s not an option then Butler and idk whoever else Perrin sees fit

2010 thinks he’s too small though
To be fair that’s a understandable concern. You really never know how these undersized combo guards turn out but I feel confident in him because he is a solid defender and versatile offensively

Butler + IQ off the bench can be dangerous with Frank or josh Hart at the 3.

At this point we just gotta hope Dallas’ pick lands in the top 10. Our pick is going to be in the teens. Top 3 pick dream is over

they are 7-3 in the last 10 games. they are very likely going to make the playoffs (we'll pick around 20th), absolute best case scenario they narrowly miss out and we pick 14th(this is where they currently are). there will be no top 10 pick.

Cade is going to be a beast, but even if we were the worst team in the league we would only have a 14% chance. If Mavs just miss the playoffs then we will probably have around a 1% chance to get Cade. Not that huge of a difference all thinks considered when you factor in the benefits of having our young players play well.
Just hope that our FO will have the ability to draft the one or two allstars that will definitely be there in the 10-20 range

if we actually wanted him we could maybe package both our picks and a bunch of future picks and also mitch, rj, quickley, toppin, whoever else for him. of course I doubt the knicks actually want him. this is a "win now" team. they aren't going to care about chasing a rookie, we want to package for stars.

What is impressive to me is that 3/4's of the teams that will be above the Knicks in the draft are better than them, and that's if the Knicks wind up at 8th.

If they don't have a better record than the Knicks can we really say they're better? I don't see any examples similar to the warriors last year when they tanked for wiseman. the teams picking ahead of us actually have some problems.

Hawks have more talent
Pelicans have more talent
Hornets have more talent
Grizzlies have more talent
Kings and TWolves probably have more talent too, just the wrong kind or bad fit. Or Towns is a big b*tch.
That's 6/8 = 75%.
OKC has a couple of nice young players and a zillion picks. I guess less talent but in a much better position for future success.

well "more talent" isn't the same as better. and it's even debatable if some of those teams have more talent. we have an all-star this year, the hornets, grizzlies, kings, and twolves don't. for all this talent the hawks allegedly have, we've already crapped on them a couple times. Seems to be Trae and a bunch of washed up injury prone dudes

The Hawks tried to consolidate all the picked players into something better and also tried to take the "next step" with vet signings but didn't really go about signing the best players in terms of fit. They've also had injuries to those pickups, in Gallo and BogBog and even Rando missed time.
I'd say they have more depth of young talent than the Knicks do, which makes sense as they got into the rebuild a year earlier and have blown less drafts, unless you consider trading Luka for Trae a blown move, which it might be. Because that got them extra picks which they've used, but they sort of have a glut of similar players in Hueter/Culver/Reddish, to go with Trae, when they could've had Luka and like one less of those guys, which wouldn't be so bad.
Basically I see more depth of young players than the Knicks have, while the Knicks MIGHT have similar talent but it's located in older guys who've already maxed who they are, in Bullocks, Burks, Noel etc.
You know what - this is too much writing. They Hawks clearly have more talent and depth.
The draft is a bit of a crap shoot, so hopefully the Knicks do well wherever. Obi is not a promising sign they will, but Quickley is.

Yeah I don't get this notion that we don't have talent. Randle and RJ are high lotto picks, producing on both side of the ball. Mitch is almost all-defense level at 22. Quickley is a rookie and is already one of the best 6th men in the NBA. Toppin shows flashes.
Just cause our talent is more defensive than offensive doesn't mean that we lack it. It's the biggest myth that every team in the NBA could be good on defense if they just try. Reason Pelicans and Hawks suck is for how good Trae, Collins, Zion and Ingram are on the offensive end, they give the same amount up on defense.
