Bulls trade Porter, Felicio and Kornet to Thunder.
Bulls get Al Horford, George Hill, and Mike Muscala.
OKC clears the deck and gets 3 expiring contracts. Helps with their quest for a top pick in the draft. Bulls add talent for a run this year. The 22-23 year on Horford's contract is unguaranteed and for 14 million. Bulls can stretch that if needed.

Re: NBA Trade Thread # 3
Here are some the radar trade ideas that I think could help us:
1. Felicio and a 2nd for Mason Plumlee
Detroit is one of the worst teams in the league and doesn't benefit from having Plumlee for three years. For us, he'd bring a consistent big man who can rebound and really pass the ball.
2. Lauri, Otto Porter, Hutchison for Richaun Holmes, Harrison Barnes, and Jabari Parker (trade filler)
The Kings are a mess, and Otto Porter allows them to get out of Harrison Barne's contract sooner. For us, Barnes would actually be an iron man who actually plays games and gives consistent contributions. Holmes for Lauri may seem controversial, but he's a guy who has been incredibly productive in his limited minutes for years now and seems like he could have a Christian Woods type of season if given the chance.
3. Wendell Carter and Felicio for Jonas Valanciunas
Swap of big men here. Carter fits Morant's timeline better and Valanciunas fits Zach's timeline better. They get younger, while we get better. V's per 36 numbers are eye-popping and I think he could give us a pretty good Nikola Vucevic impression if given the chance.

I wonder if a package of Chandler Hutchison + Daniel Gafford + 2nd Round Pick would be enough.
I still think he's a better prospect than Carter, so I would do Carter for him straight up. If we're of the mindset that we're not going to resign Lauri then I'd be open to trading him instead too.

of course his exact price is Carter because they were similar prospects and drafted next to each other.
no brainer for chi who needs higher ceiling prospects. If you dont want to give up Carter, simply add value that matches him.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Getting Valanciunas for Carter and Felicio would be highway robbery.

Re: NBA Trade Thread # 3
Chicago Receives:
Harrison Barnes + Hassan Whiteside + Mo Bamba + Jabari Parker
Sacramento Receives:
OPJ + Hutch + 2021 1st (lotto protected) + 2021 2nd (via ORL)
Orlando Receives:
Wendell Carter Jr.
Coby White / Tomas Satoransky
Zach LaVine / Garrett Temple
Harrison Barnes / Patrick Williams
Lauri Markkanen / Thaddeus Young / Jabari Parker
Hassan Whiteside / Mo Bamba / Daniel Gafford
I'm OK adding Jabari Parker. He didn't look great with his stint here the first time, but I thought Thad & Sato looked awful too.
The Bulls can't afford to let Markkanen walk and the trade market has dried up with his recent injury. At this point I think all we can hope for is that the injury helps keep Markkanen's next deal under the 20M mark. He did look much better than last year before he went down with the shoulder injury...
I'm warming up to the idea about adding Harrison Barnes. He's paid a very reasonable 22M/year for the production that he gives, plus having a veteran forward that can mentor Patrick Williams will pay dividends later. He can play both forward positions and is a solid three point threat that could take some pressure off Zach. He gives the Bulls some 'insurance' if Markkanen continues to struggle with injuries too.
I'm also interesting in swapping Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr. I realize the WCJ has shown 'MUCH MORE" so far, but I'd rather gamble on Mo Bamba's upside and I'm tired of seeing Wendell get manhandled by bigger centers like Embiid. Mo Bamba would also likely demand much less money than WCJ considering the on court production so far. Adding Hassan Whiteside gives the Bulls some insurance.

No thanks on Bamba. Look up at stiff getting blocked by midgets and realize how much of a bust he is.
I would call up the Kings and try to do a WCJ for Bagley swap.

1) Trade for Andre Drummond for cheap now if possible.
2) Sign n trade him plus picks for KAT next off season.
3) Trade WCJ for Lonzo
4) Trade Lauri for Collins.
If there is a even a small chance to sign Kawhi then do everything possible to get him. If not re-sign Lonzo and Collins.
Next season:
Lonzo/Sato
Lavine/Coby
PaW/Temple
Collins/Young
KAT/Gafford/Vet C

It’s more about adding some rim protection. I really don’t want WCJ or Bamba taking a bunch of shots anyways. Bamba can shoot the three just as well as WCJ and offers much more on the defensive end with his freakish 7’9” wingspan. Bamba is the more raw prospect, but if you’re getting Whiteside in the Barnes deal, you can take your time developing him throughout the season. If he’s still not ready by next season they could resign a cheap option like Whiteside or Noel.
WCJ has shown flashes of decent passing skills, but he’s not nearly as talented of a passer as his draft scouting report suggested and the Bulls need more size.

why wouldn''t they start? Whiteside is an elite rim protector and rebounder and very good everywhere else defensively. And cleans up offensively. Cousins is just better than Markkanen in almost every aspect if not actually every aspect

I don’t think I agree with a single word in this post. Have you see Cousins play this season? My man shoots 37% from the field. Thirty-seven. As a big! He’s been way worse than Lauri. And Whiteside is a versatile defender now? We’ve certainly never seen that in the NBA.
That’s a terrible defensive frontcourt with even less offense right there.

the one thing that shoots this trade down is Patrick Williams ending up on the bench. he has far exceeded anyone's expectations for a 19 year old who didn't even start in his one year of college, not for Barnes going to his 4th NBA team
Nobody else is OK with bringing Parker back even to watch his contract expire. He flat out quit on the Bulls, looked to blame everybody and their brother for his problems when he just couldn't play NBA basketball. If Markkanen's value is shrinking right now, the best move is to keep him the rest of the season and see if he shows up as the 20-7 guy he was going towards before he got hurt. Then you make him a reasonable 3 year offer and tell him to go do better and maybe they'll match it OR see where he gets an offer and work out a S&T. To just dump him now is selling at the lowest possible value and you're not going to get back as much as you're dreaming of.
If SAC really wants to ship Barnes out to get cap space, then you don't give up a FRP to help them out. He's far from being your second star. The Bulls are basically swapping one expiring contract for two, and ending up gambling the center position on Bamba's potential when you've stocked up at other positions.
Gafford has played himself onto the bench so I wouldn't object to trading him. But to exchange Carter for Whiteside and the 10 year age difference, no What I'd like to see is Carter and Bamba splitting time to see who responds and takes the starting job. Don't know what an ORL deal might look like

I just dont see much more coming from Carter jr. Been watching the nba since since late 80s. When someone has it, it normally shows early on and becomes better. At best I'm seeing with Carter jr is a taj Gibson like contribution which is fine but not elite and sadly taj got paid Felicio money for years but was showing immediate contributions defensively on the boards etc as soon as he got here.
Bamba every time I watch him pops out the screen. He appears to be someone who hasn't reached his ceiling while carter Jr def does looks like he is what he is. I would def move Carter jr for Bamba

clearly you have no idea what you're talking about if you think whiteside isn't a good defender. and as for cousins he's a better passer, rebounder, post player, and his shooting will come with time. and if it doesn't you can always bench him

All Whiteside could get was a minimum deal and Cousins is currently struggling to find just that (the Lakers recently went with Damian Jones instead), but I‘m clearly the one who doesn’t know what he’s talking about here.

Cousins, in his pre-injury prime, was better than Lauri has been up to this point. You can't equate current Cousins with prime Cousins. He's an end of the bench, 10 minutes a game contributor at this point. There are several Bigs we can choose from in the 2nd Round that could provide defense and rebounding off the bench and would have room for future developmental improvement. Maybe we move on from Carter at the #5, but Cousins ain't the answer.

Carter comes back from injury and plays really well for many games: not a peep about Carter
ONE bad game from Carter: many trades suggesting literally dumping Carter to sign a washed up big straight out 2 major injuries, shooting 37% from the field and waived by one of the worst teams in the league.

Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.
