I agree in general, but trying to figure out what the hell is going on in Houston is pretty crazy.

That said, Elon Musk thinks we live in a simulation, it would appear the coding in the simulation was trip the code 'unhappy star QB code activate in 2021'
I totally understand him being unhappy but he really only has himself to blame. No one forced him to sign

Yeah, I agree. Just seems like Houston has turned into a giant **** show.

I can't blame Watson for being unhappy in that dumpster fire organization, but NFL QB's taking the playbook from NBA superstars (throwing tantrums while trashing their current team/teammates through the media) isn't a good development here.

It's happened before. The main difference is that NFL teams are much more willing to just say "Fine. Sit out then. But you're only getting moved when we want to"

I think this move puts them at just 5 million or so under the cap. All three of the rumored teams have to make space for themselves given the projected cap number regardless of whether it's for Watt or not. At least in comparison to Tennessee, the Packers with obvious extension/restructure candidates, have a clearer path to SOME money without having to gut their roster from significant contributors. In Tennessee's case, both of their starting corners as release candidates, Jonnu Smith, Daquan Jones, Desmond King, Jadeveon Clowney, Corey Davis all as free agents.

So with the new TV deals I'm left wondering how it is in this day and age that none of the major sports haven't just created their own smart TV app and cut out the middle man by broadcasting the games themselves? They can still keep their Sunday Ticket locked behind a paywall and just show the games in the devices location.

I get the logistical issues involved in needing to add their own broadcasts but if these broadcasting companies are willing to pay these numbers because they're making it back plus some it seems like these leagues could just pocket the dollars strait from the advertisers.

I guess you could argue they don't want to lose the people who don't own smart TVs but how many households is that really? Even if it is a fair number still we can't be that far off from a time where a non smart TV is about as rare a black n white

Good for JJ. Packers wouldn't/couldn't give him that contract.

The Cardinals are the Texans of 3 years ago except the Cardinals don't have as good of a QB as the Texans do.

Wait some are actually surprised it's about the money? It's always about the money. **** I like money too so can't blame athletes for feeling the same way.

I'm not like shell-shocked and more power to him, but yeah I thought it was possible he prioritized actually winning. His entire family is **** loaded and it sounded like he had an opportunity to go to one of several different contenders for not that much less in the grand scheme of things (to him).

Sure he could have picked an easier path but the thing with the NFL vs most other sports is you can make a case for like 20 teams that at least have a shot of winning it all going into the season and I'd put the cards in that group. They were 8-8 and lost some close games it's not like they were the Jags.

If it's about the money this move makes even less sense.

He was due 1 yr/17 mil. Might as well play that out and sign a huge deal next year. He now has 2 yrs with 23 mil guaranteed. He could've got that 17 mil and signed for more guaranteed money in 2022.....unless he feels he is on such a quick decline that won't happen.

I mean at least he went to a team I can still cheer for, but I thought he was better off joining Cleveland.
