His familiarity with the players and system would be especially valuable in this whacky covid season too.

Would be great to make a better pick up of course. And this wouldn't have to be our only move! That's especially if we find a way to clear a bit more space under the hard cap.

As it stands though I hope Ilyasova is giving us the first shot at his services.

Ersan couldn't secure a deal because he's not good enough. Why we should chase after him except for sentiments I don't get.
Its certainly not that he can't get a deal...... He'll be a Buck by seasons end, though if it were up to me, I'd look elsewhere. He just doesn't have a lot of utility in the playoffs.

Whether it's the right move or not bringing back Ersan sure seems like a Bucks kind of play.

Optimistically, I can imagine Ersan breaking down under the weight of very long seasons, but possibly having enough gas in the tank for a playoff run.

If that's the case he might just be biding his time in this weird covid season, perhaps even with a wink wink deal that the Bucks would be interested in his services if he is in shape when it counts.

With Brook looking as slow as he has, and Portis not being reliable on defense, Ersan would be great. Ersan’s game does not age. He’ll hit a few big threes, grab a few big offensive rebounds, take a few big charges in a playoff series. I’d love to have him back to shore up our center rotation.

Give Ersan free drink vouchers for home playoff games? Definitely.
Sign Ersan to an NBA contract and even worse, put him on the floor for meaningful minutes? Absolutely not.

There's a reason he's remained in Milwaukee since being waived and continued to work out. That's not to say that if another home run option presents itself we don't go that route, but he's VERY much in play and he's had calls. I've heard whisperings of a bit of a nodding agreement after he was waived with the Bogdanovic snafu.

He'd obviously be more useful than DJ or Thanasis but you probably wanna find a guy who'd actually be able to play meaningful playoff minutes assuming you think the team still needs to make a move.

MIL: Kennard (although I still think he is overrated but he is out of the rotation now)
LAC: Lopez, DJW

This is more about getting rid of Lopez than thinking Kennard is good.

Right, Ersan is a great depth guy for the regular season and one would think would help on some team D issues they've been having. I'm higher than most on him and have no problem with him playing in the playoffs vs certain matchups. I mean, he won us game 2 vs Tor and was a fine contributor in that playoffs. And last year I doubt I was the only one thinking I'd rather have him out there than some others. But yes, overall I agree he's not a difference maker for the playoffs, mins will go down in the playoffs etc. I'd hope they're exploring better options first but frankly there just might not be a better option and in this year I wouldn't want them to give up any future assets when I doubt they can win. So it just might be the best we can do for dirt cheap and he's at least stable, competent, reliable for two small stretches a game or if someone were to get hurt.

I don't know why people think teams are just to take DJA off of our hands with how he's played this season and last.

If the Knicks started giving Augustine Quickleys minutes their fans might burn the garden down.

Yep, gonna need to find a team with decent player on a trash contract who's underperforming that you can flip DJA into a package for (Rubioooooo) hoping that they right the ship upon getting to this team.

Maybe we could find an underperforming big guy in his salary area who is also under contract for next year or two and that team would rather have PG depth? With the idea being it then more frees up Brook to be traded in the offseason and you already have his replacement.

Not surprised to hear that these kind of whispers have happened.

Even if another home run option presents itself, we just need a roster spot and enough space under the hard cap to bring Ersan back.

This team is light on heady defenders much less one who can hit a 3 if he's open.

Not a high bar to beat out DJ Wilson at a baseline.

Luke Kennard signed a 4yr/$60M deal 3 months ago.

Pretty hilarious Clippers can't even play him now. Terrible deal. Would not touch it.

I think Ersan has a back door deal with the Bucks and will be signed early April.

He could've signed with another team by now, he's not washed out.

I liked him and Giannis playing minutes together, Ers has guarded Embiid well.

If anyone has stats from him and Giannis lineups, I'd be curious to see that.

Ersan would be a good add but I'd like to know why he couldn't get minutes over the corpse of Marvin Williams in the playoffs last year.

Ersan was AWFUL in the bubble. Something like -21 NetRtg in his 90 minutes on the court. Not saying it was all his fault the team was terrible while he was on the court but it was terrible.

Because Ersan was flat out bad save for that little run he had in that stretch of games in December. If Marvin Williams was a "corpse," what does that say about Ersan's mobility?
