Finished up Mr. Robot tonight. Quite a ride. Really enjoyed it. And I always love Bobby Cannavale.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Top notch, premium show. Feel like I should watch it again.

It was always entertaining and I think the first and last seasons in particular were amazing.

One of my all-timers so glad to hear you enjoyed the finish. Esmail wrapped it up at the perfect time (I think they almost spread it out to five seasons). And yea, Irving is a great character.
For the Robot fans I'd be curious to hear favorite eps/characters/scenes/etc. Although he was only a secondary character, I'm a Fernando Vera stan. Elliot Villar acted his ass off. This was me in my living room when he returned at the end of S3...

Favorite scene was how Dom and Darlene ended up where they were in 4x10.

Feels like it's going to be tough for the MCU moving forward to get us to care or invest in characters (especially minor Avengers) without giving us a quality show like WandaVision. Really well created and certainly in the top quartile of MCU endeavors.

Villar was really good. I thought the casting was great. BD Wong has always been a favorite going back to Oz. I hope they don't bring this back in any form. It wrapped up nicely.

Agreed on the casting, and I thought most (all?) of the characters had full and satisfying stories.
Humble brag moment. A few years ago myself and a buddy dressed up as Elliot and Mr Robot for halloween. Our friend's brother was dating BD at the time, so we facetimed him and his response was... "oh c'mon. those aren't costumes, that's just a brown jacket and a black hoodie."

That super weird. Especially considering there was no need to update the book since it was already historical when it was released. Clancy's books are basically written as movies, so adapting them shouldn't be all that complicated.

Anybody watch the new Superman show? I just finished episode one and thought it was actually pretty decent. It's production value and writing is much better than most of the CW superhero shows that I got bored with.

I liked the first episode enough to tune in this season. I really like Tyler Hoechlin.

Without Remorse is my all-time favorite Clancy book, and whatever this is won't do it justice at all. However, to be fair, putting out a movie starring a black man who goes on a vigilante justice spree might not be the best thing currently.

Not familiar with the book, with the screenplay is by Taylor Sheridan so I'm pretty confident it'll be good.

I just finished the first season of The Mandalorian and at the risk of getting pelted with virtual stones....does it get better? The dialog and a lot of the performances are just awful. Example:
And that was one of the better episodes. Directed by Taika Waititi no less.

At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.
Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

It never gets better than the Sudekis and Pally trooper scene, but that's also because that's one of the best scenes in Star Wars history.
It's a solid show and season two was fine. It's got Space Raylan Givens in an episode.

No, the show sucks. I don't even think it's like - well it's not great, but it's entertaining. It legit sucks. The amount of love it gets is baffling.

The best thing about the Mandalorian is that it finally goes back to what made the original films so good, by using practical effects and actual set pieces instead of a bunch of people acting in front of a green screen. Outside of that though? Yeah, just like everything Star Wars since Disney has touched it, it's a mediocre story and cast of characters propped up by nostalgia cameos and a nearly 50-year old lore universe that just happens to still hold up. I do enjoy the random comedian cameos quite a bit though (Sudeikis, Amy Sedaris, Waititi, Horatio Sanz).

Re: OT: TV and Movies (With Spoilers)
Coming 2 America wasn't the first movie and it was never gonna be. But it left me with a genuine smile on my face. Between Dolemite, SNL, some hilarious interviews like the one with Nas and this, Eddie Murphy is officially on a roll. The standup special will complete the cypher.
F*** Marc Davis, f*** Tim Donaghy and f*** David Stern as a staff, record label and as a mothaf**kin crew......and if you wanna be down with Stern then F*** YOU TOO!!! Stu Jackson f*** you too.....all you mothaf**kas F*** YOU TOO!!!!

Can't forget Burr and deputy space Marshall Raylan Givens!
