The only reason I've quieted about adding Bamba is getting him kind of locks us into more drop scheme

I would look to add more guys that know how to move off ball. Right now DDV and Pat can do it to baseline, Forbes can do it around screens, but almost nothing after that.
I don't know who it is that I am targeting with that comment, but would love to see getting more guys to do it.
I think Lopez won't realistically be traded and I think DJW is the only guy we will end up trading. Hopefully someone wants a flyer on him, would be good for his career to go to a bad team and just get some minutes consistently.

Still, that's not much of a problem is Lopez is included in a trade for Bamba - since Lopez' salary is significantly bigger. Looking a their per 36 numbers - which is the best we have to predict future production - Bamba's numbers are dramatically better than Lopez - and just based on their ages - Bamba should get better while Lopez is likely to continue aging - though I think he's got some left in the tank.

Per 36 is the best predictor? There are eleventeen better numbers than per 36 box scores to help determine things.
Bamba's USG is 21%. Brook's is 15%. Bamba wouldn't touch the ball here like he does there.

Ok, tell me. What are the eleventeen better numbers, and give an explanation for each as to why they are better. Just saying usage might be lower tells me basically nothing - especially since that's Lopez lowest ever usage % by far.

You're right. However, a concern I'd have is the offensive system isn't designed for this at the moment. Maybe things would change with more dynamic guys like you and I would both want, but as of now the structure still seems to be rooted on planting themselves at the 3 pt line. Considering Bud comes from the Spurs and what Bud did with ATL playing extreme ball movement team ball it's a bit surprising. But maybe it's his plan to unlock Giannis and keep the paint wide open for him. Which, it's touch to say he's been wrong about considering the leap Giannis made the last two years. But by now they have to diversify.
Even the last two years some of the ball movement aspects happened in spite of the structure as you had really high IQ guys like Ersan, Wes, Hill, Korver who understand all this stuff so well and know exactly where to go with the ball. Shoot/pass, then move. Most of those guys are now gone and that element is really lacking now.

I have watched like zero NBA this year other than just a couple of bucks games, but what about a deal with Sacramento? Is there like a Lopez/DJW deal that brings back Bjeinca, Parker and Whiteside that makes sense and opens up some salary in order for us to use money to sign Diakite?
In that scenario you would be playing Giannis more at the 5, but at least you have added some pieces and deepened the bench.

I think part of it is that it is a forgotten skill. Maybe the best part of having a high gravity player like Giannis is that all eyes are on him or walls fronting him. So next two things to elevate the team, 1. how do we create easy buckets that aren't threes with all that attention 2. how do we get Giannis the ball in more positions where he doesn't need to face that wall (PnR, more getting him the ball in the post, he seems to be expanding his game in the paint nicely).
I'll give Bud some credit, I am not sure anyone has had to ever solve this problem before, throwing 4 player wall at a player. Their first attempt to just surround shooters pooped out after sphincters tightened come playoff time and our best player couldn't hit free throws. Next evolution seems like a better idea, move guys off the ball more, run more action with Giannis as the screener, get him the ball in the post more. Guys just need to get comfortable that if they cut to the hoop, they aren't going to be the ones on the poster, I think they have tried to stay TOO MUCH out of his way, got to find a balance.

Haven't watched much Sacramento games but both Parker and Whiteside looked rough. Whiteside might help some team but Jabari should be out of the NBA after this year.

Does this mean they're converting Diakite?
Edit: I suppose they could release Adams?

Diakite was recalled today so I would assume Adams is gone.
