I think the overreaction has more to do with who he signed with after stating he wants to be on a "contender" It is the NFL and every year there are surprise teams. JJ went on saying he just wants to win, then signs with the cards who are a playoff contender but probably 4th place in that division. reports are that the browns offered more and the bills were close if not more than AZ.... If he wanted to win, both those teams have a FAR better chance of winning it all than AZ. actually glad he went to AZ. the NFC west is loaded and hopefully they beat each other up leaving a top 2 seed to someone not in the NFC west.

I think he just wanted out of what was clearly the worst run organization in the league.

Honestly it could have been as simple as his wife saying, "there is no way in hell I'm moving to Green Bay, WI or Buffalo, NY. Pick a different city."

It’s confusing because most people thought he wanted a shot at winning a super bowl and that flat out is not happening there over the next few years.

If Kliff hires an assistant with some analytics savvy or can redesign the offense a bit, they absolutely could.

I realize that's a bit much to ask but so is, "if the Packers just put together a top 10 defense" every year as well. The Cards are in the mix and you never know, could win in spite of their coach.

I guess I don't know why everyone's treating the Cardinals like they're destined to go 6-10 next year. They have a dynamic 3rd year QB, and a nice amount of play-making talent on both sides of the ball (Hopkins, Christian Kirk, Simmons, Budda Baker, Hassan Reddick). They could absolutely make a leap.

So the deal is 2/28 for Watt.

He was about to make 1/17 for Houston. You can't tell me this dude would not have signed for less than 1/14 next year....imo he lost money in the deal. If his plan was to just get away from Houston but make as much money as possible, I guess this was the move.....but I think he will be just as unsatisfied at the end of the season.

There's a less than zero chance the Texans would have brought him back in 2021 at that number.

They aren't horrible, I'm a Murray fan. But to me they aren't anywhere near being contender status (aparently not just "to me," quick google search showed them as the 20th best odds to win the super bowl).

I guess he prioritized the money and living somewhere warm vs less money and significantly higher odds of winning a super bowl, and that's totally his right, good for him. But he didn't go there because they're contenders, they aren't sniffing top 12 on the true contenders list. I think any effort to try to justify them as contenders is reaching pretty hard. He took the money and the warm climate.

I don't think it's hard to see Arizona being a legit contender next year.

It might have been because of injury, but Murray wasn't near as good in the second half of the season.

Peterson is a free agent. According to PFF

Peterson struggled mightily in 2020.

Peterson posted his worst coverage grade since his rookie year (53.1) and led the league in penalties with 12.

Until Murray does it, he can't do it. And I say that with all QB's with that style. Give me the prototype pocket passer (with mobility of course) who have won the last 59 Super Bowls

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Does this even effect the coin toss? Seems like they'd just be cutting out kickoffs
