Re: Official Trades and Transactions thread
I'd trade Grant but Boston don't have anything I'd want

Re: Official Trades and Transactions thread
Shams just shot down the very unlikely chance of Pistons trading Blake. I'm wondering though how close Pistons really are to a buyout with such a massive contract on the books. I'd be curious even if It wasn't the Pistons. So much money...

Re: Official Trades and Transactions thread
I wouldn't deal with Ainge considering how hardball he plays with every trade no matter how small
Plus we're just not great trade partners considering they don't have enough assets since Brown and Tatum are off the table

Grant, Plumlee, filler, for Wiseman, Wiggins, Minny pick.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Along with anything else we've got.
Even if you see Wiggins as a majorly negative value piece, the value of Wiseman/Minny pick are being underrated in that offer.

How generous of you haha.
Grant, Plumlee and filler isn't worth near Wiseman plus potential top 5 pick. It's arguably not worth the Minny pick alone although it's hard to assign value to the pick because of the conditions.
In any event, Weaver isn't trading Grant nor should he. This is just Ainge doing scummy Ainge things, probably offering a 2nd for Grant then will tell the world that he offered a phenomenal package for Grant but Weaver didn't want to do it.

I wouldn't make them take Sekou.

Didn't the Warriors basically absorb Wiggins for the pick? So paired together, how much value is Wiggins and the pick? Wiggins is not good and has a huge deal - a big negative.
That leaves Grant for Wiseman - and a Wood for Wiseman deal is being seen as fair by most on the trade board.

I doubt the Warriors see Wiggins as that negative a piece in their situation.
The fact that the Wolves gave up a lottery pick when they clearly should not have doesn't, IMO, make those 2 things a wash. Would YOU give up an upcoming lottery pick to shed a contract like Wiggins? I sure as heck wouldn't. I wouldn’t expect them to either.
And that's even assuming Grant and Wiseman are a wash- I doubt they see it THAT way either. I don’t know about Wood for Wiseman- I’d prefer Wiseman personally.
This offer is a huge reach IMO.

Wayne Ellington, Delon Wright and Mason Plumlee. Per sources, these three veterans have received most of the legitimate interest from opposing teams up to this point. Despite his struggles as of late, the 33-year-old Ellington is still shooting over 40 percent from 3 on 6.0 attempts per game. Contending teams looking to add shooting have inquired about his services.

If for no other reason than to go through all that after getting his pick to trade him and then get him back for possibly one of the random seconds we got for trading him.
Along the same idea and they haven’t taken off but I’m kind of mad we weren’t the third team in the Anthony Davis trade. The wizards paid $1 million to get some Lakers 2nd, mo Wagner, issac bonga, and another player. No one has panned out great, but we had a minimal amount of any young upside players and they would’ve helped set up a rebuild.

I almost cringe to say this, but Mason Plumlee shouldn't be traded - save a great offer. He has the value to the Pistons that they mistakenly thought Rose gave them last year. That said, I'm sure Weaver is listening to offers....

Re: Official Trades and Transactions thread
I thought it was
Grant + Wright + Ellington for Wiggins and the Minn pick plus filler.
Adding Wiseman is a bit rich.
MIN is a bad organization and everyone seems to underperform there. Wiggins is a 26 year old 6'8" SG/SF. He can be part of a winning team. Its his salary thats the bad part.
Its a swing worth taking. If the Pistons got 1 and 4. I can dream, can't I?

Wouldn't you have to be an even bigger idiot GM to trade for these guys if signing them in the first place means you're an idiot GM? Asking for a RealGM friend.MotownMadness wrote:4 hours ago – via James L. Edwards III @ The Athletic
