If I’m Griffin I’m selling Lonzo and tanking. Add a top 5 pick to Ingram and Zion to go with all those picks. Then you have everything you need to build around Zion.

Well, if I was a NOP fan, I'd be bummed about hiring SVG. You've got more than 10 guys on rookie contracts. It's a strange decision bringing in a veteran defensive coach. He's no Boylen, but you know he's not going to play offensive talents through their mistakes... which I would want if I had that many lotto picks on the books, looking to be evaluated and developed.

I also think Ingram is a bit of fool's gold, and not an ideal pairing with Zion. But he's obviously not a point of concern. They have a lot of decisions to make. I just don't see the point of having 10 players on rookie salaries - the bigger problem is they have WAY too many PGs and Cs, and hardly any true wings. I guess Lonzo and Hart are considered SFs over there? :-?

I keep saying it, but this is the secret to losing in the NBA:

1. Over-stock on small guards and traditional bigs.
2. Hold more than 6 rookie salaries.
3. Hire a defensive-minded coach.

It's like, a time and time proven recipe for failure. OKC tried their best to Hinkie tank, but they don't lose as much as they wanted because their roster is stacked with multi-position wings, with a coach who has them running at a fast pace.

Bulls were (er, are) in the same boat (way too many young players, small-guards and bigs), but getting bailed out by Donovan's fast pace, good spacing and Thad/Temple/Sato's multi-position vet play. Honestly, if Otto and Hutch were healthy this year, this team would be a #4 seed, and we know they're not even that good. So IMO, Bulls critics are underestimating the potential if Artunas is able to strike gold in the draft and FA market with a few more reliable wings. We're competing with a 35yo Temple, 19yo PW and Sato/Valentine filling out the forward positions. It isn't impossible to ask for upgrades with the $40m+ of Felicios and Ottos coming off the books.

Anyway, NOP has Zion and a lot of assets, but they do have to think about what the hell do with them all. I agree that tanking would be in their best interests. The current roster is not built around Zion's strengths, at all.

Is that enough time...
- Lauri to show enough to stay?
- Show enough to be traded for assets?

I think Lauri will help us quite a bit especially against size. Also think Lauri at 5 and Thad at 4 will be really good.

Since he's played 1/2 the season, he just needs to show he's healthy, so yes.

Bummer if Det buys out Griffin. I was holding out hope his contract was enough of a source of pain for Det to consider a deal for Grant if we took it.

Griffin is bad, but he might be useful playoff depth if we get him on min deal. If we deal Lauri for Ball  , he could back-up Thad at PF.

I’ve noticed that Zach LaVine has been playing a lot of point guard, even when Coby White is on the court. Has anyone else noticed this?

Is moving LaVine to full-time point guard an option worth discussing? He’s a better playmaker than Coby, so it’s not like the Bulls have a better option.

It has been brought up a lot. I don't think Zach is great for it- his handle is pretty good and his vision sometimes surprises me, but too many unforced turnovers- maybe correctible with time? I have said before, he learns slow, but he does learn and is always improving.

Including a 1st would be a big overpay.

CP3 ain’t getting younger. Temple and Thad give them more fuel for push to win West. Suns will be making a trade at the deadline.

If Indiana continue to struggle and decide to blow it up, what would we have to give up for Brogdon & Turner?

Coby, WCJ, Gafford, 2021 1st, 2023 1st. Is that enough, or too much? It gives the Pacers a few young pieces and assets to build around.

Brogdon
LaVine
PWill
Lauri
Turner

That’s obviously great for us, it’s terrible for the Suns though.

Highly doubt they move Brogdon and Turner for that package. They’re probably fine getting a good draft pick and LaVert coming back healthy next season.

I'd throw the kitchen sink at Sabonis. 3 1sts, Lauri, Coby, and WCJ. Sign Lonzo and Jarret Allen in the offseason. They aren't trading him, but fun to think about.

Ball
Lavine
P Will
Sabonis
Allen

That team is stupid good. A ton of defense, still a lot of scoring. Maybe a 3 point sniper at point instead of Ball, idk.

Why are people hell-bent on selling low on Coby? He is 16/5/5, closing games and hasn't even hit one hot streak yet. Most his bad games came in the first month of the season. Brogdon is 9 years older than Coby. Swapping them is crazy IMO. I don't think we're in position to buy Brogdon; that opportunity passed by 2 off-seasons ago.

I’d do it without the 1st.

Don't see GS going for it. I think they really like Wiseman, who is on a rookie deal for a while. Lauri is the centerpiece of that deal, and he's gonna cost them $. I think they like Wiggins now too, but his deal is so bad, maybe with him included.

Maybe Otto for Wiggins and GS's 2022 unprotected 1st (which will likely be in the mid 20's if Clay comes back, but there's a chance it could be a lotto pick if things don't go right for them).

Well there is a rumor that the Bulls are interested whether you agree with it or not.
