He can barely get off the ground, but he's big and strong, has great hands, uses his size well defensively, still hard to post up, still a skilled passer but smarter than his younger version. Kind of a rich man's Moose Monroe with the greenest of lights.

So an upgrade from Brook? Better fit?

I'm no expert on cap ramifications/ trades, and deals, however, the Lakers are in a similar situation currently with their bigs. I read the Lakers are interested in Drummond, Whiteside, McGee. Personally, as I've said before, I think McGee would be a good fit.

Would sac consider something like;
SAC: Lopez (maybe goes to third team), Wilson, Forbes
MKE: Corey Joseph, Richaun Holmes

Frees up about 2M to maybe use on Cousins and/or Diakite? Maybe see if we can put Craig in there instead of Forbes?

You joke but I definitely see some Tiny-Righty Harden in his offensive game.

The athletic piece on the Pistons say their new FO may move on from Sci and/or Sekou. Now I don't think we're in a position to trade for Sekou despite his all time low value, but Svi would be a good get since his salary is so low and he's a RFA. Gives us lots of flexibility.

Joseph sucks but anything reasonable that gets us Holmes is a win in my book.

Tucker playing the Thanos/Craig minutes would be fine, but I'm not sure he's a difference maker. I dunno. I want a real two guard or a young-ish athletic center.

The Lakers we desperate for a center, and opted for Damian Jones instead with Cousins available.

Unfortunately, I think if they would sign Tucker, they wouldn't sign him to play those mins.

I don't think he'd be an upgrade. He'd be a little different. You could imagine some upside if he's not fully recovered yet.

Would it be so bad if he played those minutes and cut into Brooks?

If Giannis was willing to play the 5, or maybe run Midds at the 2, it wouldn't be the worst thing. I still would rather target McGee, he's a couple years younger, and makes about half the salary, and is a better fit IMHO.

Part of me thinks we should save the few meager assets we have available if the alternative is a futile move in the guise of a championship push.

We gutted the team to get Jrue Holiday and are dealing with the repercussions.

Next offseason we'll have a lot more flexibility including exceptions, no hard cap, and certain players with one less year left on their deals.

There also could be broader strategic changes on the way if we decide to move on from Budenholzer and / or Horst (especially if the likes of Masai are available).

It's a historically strange year with the pandemic. The team could play better (and was playing better) with fans in the stands.

Certainly don't mean to be defeatist. Just flagging that Budenhozler / Horst might have more incentive to go all out to win a ring this season than the franchise at large now that Giannis signed the supermax.

I believe the Bucks are really trying to find a small ball lineup for the playoffs that they can trust. I had read when they brought in Craig they viewed him as that piece but it does not seem that he has worked out. I think that is why the interest in Tucker seems to persist.
Dealing with people who exhibit the "smartest person in the room" syndrome can be a challenge. One approach is to listen their opinion while also encouraging open-mindedness. It's important to create an environment where all voices are valued.

This. We've gutted the team and the team doesn't look close. There's too big of a gap between where we are and where we need to be to just keep burning assets for the sake of a 2021 run. Cleveland did this with Lebron. We don't have to do the same. Giannis is locked in for 5 more years.

I don't enjoy this team nearly as much as the last 1.75 years and it's frustrating, but as much as I hated the Jrue trade, there is absolutely no way I'm making any assumptions about how far away this team is from a title in the next two years right now. The regular season doesn't matter that much, there are tons of new parts, and the compressed schedule with a short training camp has turned the regular season into even more of a disjointed afterthought than usual.

Javale/Prince for Brook/DJW. I'd assume we'd have to give some 2nds too. Don't think I'd do it if we had to give a 1st. Idea is to essentially swap's remaining two years for one more year of a 3D combo backup who can hang backing up 2-4. Problem is enticing them to take on another year of o a contract for a seemingly not as good of a player. First, obviously they can try to find a 3rd team to get something else back on Brook. But 2nd, assuming Drummond is gone at deadline too and Allan is their long term C. Javale is likely a trade option regardless, so then all of a sudden they'd only have 1 big + Love. So Brook could be there as a backup to Allan with the opposite skillset so seemingly fits well as a pair.

This is a tough one for me to wrap my head around. My brain tells me we "need" Brook, or someone with a similar skill set, to accomplish everything we want to offensively. My eyes (while bleeding) tell me he often looks like a terrible basketball player. But outside of Boogie, I'm not sure there is an obtainable upgrade. And if Boogie is not an actual upgrade and doesn't possess a similar skill set, then forget about it.

I would like to know if the Jrue Trade is the most expensive trade EVER for a non all star player. Anyone knows or remember any similar trade?
